They are currently trying to find teams that will work with the Visual Works CGI studio to make a game. So probably a multi media project like FFXV was? FFXVI?

The DMC5 team somehow outmodeled and animated the RE2 IMO. I mean I think DMC5 might be topping Naughty Dog in facial animation and modeling.

How large? Would the poly count drop by 30%, would it have worse textures, would it be able to display less particle effects etc? I really doubt it. Its like FFXV's lumious vs FF7/KH3 UE4 engine results, FFXV would probably look as good in UE4

Remember them outsourcing last gen like Dark Void, DmC, Lost Planet 3, Dead Rising etc. It was all a fucking mistake.

I don't think its the engine, its the talented devs, art team etc. I mean what is this game doing that UE3 couldnt for example? Nothing.

I'm not a big Sony first party guy, even though I think TLOU was top 3 games last gen. But they've come a long long way from their PS1 days. Also if you look at Western PS2 games stuff like God of War, Jak, Ratchet, Sly, Ape Escape etc were the pinnacle of Western games on PS2 aside from rare games like GTA. It's just the PS1-PS2 era was dominated by the Japanese so badly.

They started doing that in 2009 after Uncharted 2. It's just snowballed into what it is now, MS was already fucking up after 2009, it only took next-gen for lemmings to admit it.

Probably has a lot to do with investing into new game development, that will pay off later.
