Dude... it wasn't a LEAK... it was a bullshit rumor.  Stop treating rumors as LEAKS.  Leaks imply that there's substantial evidence and confirmation that said subject of leak exists and is real.

Does it really matter if its labeled as a rumor or a leak? Both seem pretty synonymous at this point. The PS4 "leak" was also a rumor until the damn thing was announced.

Well, Aza's trying to use it to explain away why things might change or the info might not be accurate.  If it's a leak... then it's substantiated and has merit... if it's a rumor, then it's hearsay.

 

If Aza says look at this PS4 leak... and then look how much it changed between then and launch.. as a reason to explain why the same could happen here if THIS "leak" is wrong... it should be immediately clear that the "PS4 leak" in the past was just a rumor.  It wasn't that the "leak" was legit and then it changed suddently... the "leak" was bullshit to begin with.

 

The fact is this... when Aza talks about "Insiders" he uses language that signifies that these rumors have more merit than your average rumor.  Giving me examples of the past in which a "leak" was almost completely wrong, does nothing to help his argument in my eyes... and just further iterates that these are rumors.  What new information was stated here?  He gave a RAM quantity... which on it's own makes no sense... and Aza explained that away by saying that 18GB refers to only what devs can use.  Then the bandwidth number given was also explained away by saying that it could have 2 memory pools... which makes no sense.. given that they also apparently state that it's GDDR5...

 

Then he tries to smooth over the flaws by saying that insiders might not know as much about technology as others and that they don't always have access to the latest info.  That's definitely true... but if they're revealing LEAKS at a time where there's still possibility for architectural changes... then it's completely bullshit to begin with.. and they are just looking for attention. 

 

Could this all be true?  Who knows?  But why even mention it and then say more info coming soon?  Just wait until you have the info and then reveal it.

This is just goal post moving and if it is announced in March, there is zero chance its not 2019. March is too early for a announcement 2020 release even if early 2020.
