Supposedly the headset will be bundled with the Knuckles controllers and Half Life VR.. and will have a 135' FOV and Vive PRO resolution. It's meant to counter Oculus and the Rift S update. Vive and Oculus just haven't done the best at tapping into that market.. which Valve maybe thinks it can do better. It's why price is important.. as well as features. This new headset could have improved tracking and positional cameras, it could also be completely wireless. Just the ease of use alone without tons of cables would lower the barrier to entry for a lot of people. People don't want to deal with add on shit and wires everywhere. Also (while I don't believe it yet) a Half Life VR game would definitely move some units and headsets. Since it would be on Steam, it would likely be available to all Vive/Valve/Oculus owners. Oh lol. Yea, I'm skeptical. But apparently it's known at this point that they are working on it. Would Valve even care though? It would move a lot of units, especially if it was an actual full fledged VR game which did some cool new stuff. It's not like people are expecting HL3 anymore... What would be amazing and the best of both worlds, would be if the VR game was a prelude of the events leading up to a full fledged HL3 sequel.
