Looks a lot better than the originals and suits the sharper 3d models much better.  It's not RE0master quality or anything, but it's a nice improvement.

That's pretty impressive, so my guess is that they take all of the independent images, resample them with this tech and then reimplement them? That seems relatively simple, I wonder how long some Resident Evil stuff is going to take.

Yea, it's pretty good.  Yep, they take all the BGs and resample them at 4x the resolution, and then put them back in.

 

The upscaling process is simple, but it actually requires a bit of work right now for the end user to actually implement.  It's not a simple drop-in replace-files-and-go kind of mod unfortunately.  It requires that you have the 7th Heaven mod installed as well as a couple of other things.  Nothing too crazy, but still more trouble than most people are willing to go through at this point anyway.
