I'm sure the console versions are selling like crazy too still.   The game could very well be close to 4-5 million at this point. :whew:

Oh and obligatory because Gooberson is an idiot and thinks he's a sales expert.

"Xbox digital is much stronger than PS4. Sometimes outright ridiculously so"

Physical game sales results are 100% worthless on the back of a statement like this, digital has carved out too much of the market to get any kind of inclination as to actual sales and with Xbox being far beyond PlayStation in terms of digital attachment there's no reliable means of gauging anything unless a developer/publisher just outright says "we sold this on X and this on Y", it's useless data now.

This has time and time again proven to be accurate, their hardware attachment ratio and purchasing trends are near identical, always have been.

That is from 2017 BTW and is for AAA games.

poor PC sales :hehe:

The game was just announced at 3 million total sales last week... PC is 1/3 of that. :drake:

PS4 is probably @ 2.5 mil, PC @ 1.2 mil and Lastbox @ 700K as of right now

How do you even come to these ratios? A 3.57:1 attach ratio vs Xbox for PS4?

Some of the dumbest shit imaginable.

Most games seem to be selling 3:1 or 70/30... plus Xbox sucks worldwide..  They're probably pretty accurate.

Plus the Xbox OG version is garbage, and the PRO version looking sharper had resetera turds saying they were gonna buy it on PRO..

What do you peg them at?

A 60/40 split, again look above, Xbox's digital attachment is much higher than PlayStation and 95% of the information we generally get is hinged on the reliance of physical sales data.

It's just not reliable information anymore, and when someone comes back with "X game sold 75% on PS4 in the UK" it's omitting so much pertinent data to the point of being worthless.

Capcom said 3 mil sales.. that's counting digital...

Give me numbers... what do you think it's at on each platform now?

It's probably at 5 million, 1.2 million on PC, 1.55 million on Xbox One and 2.25 million on PS4. The reason I'm leaning on Xbox more heavily here even in a WW market is because even though this game is Japanese the primary driving force for RE has always been the United States and the UK.

Could be.  I'd be glad if it was at 5 million already.  I think the split is higher though.  Resident Evil is more recognizable as a Playstation brand game.  Capcom has been heavily marketing the PS version.

Whatever though.. it's selling great.  Especially on PC.  The game deserves it :glad:

He retard..... Benji is talking about the USA.  We already established that in the USA Xbox sells more digitally.    NPD captures those digital sales in their rankings for Xbox and PlayStation... so it's accounted for.

With that being said the USA =/= UK.  Yes digital sales in the UK has increased across the board BUT you keep leaving out that for AAA games in the UK physical still accounts for 75% of the sales.

What's mind-boggling to me is how you can believe and disbelieve your same source about the same data at the same time.  You only choose to believe things that suit your Narrative and disregard everything else that doesn't.

You then go on to make bad faith arguments knowing damn well you're being disingenuous.

UK

when it comes to AAA releases, digital sales only account for around 25 per cent of the games sold.

DinoMath damage control itt. :kaz:  He think a 40 million userbase enjoy a 40/60 split in games sales with the 90m userbase on PS4. :D

All because digital sales on Xbox are strong. :mickey:  Just knowing that PS4 has more than twice the users, it's probably way closer to a 2:1 split on average.

Apparently RE2 only cost 25 million to make. It has a huge profit margin. Dead Space 2 for reference cost over 50 10 years ago.

What?  Where did you hear that?

There were apparently 800 people working on the game throughout development..  I'm not sure I believe that at all.  Though they did reuse a lot of assets from RE7.
