god of war is the second win this generation for sony first party titles, after uncharted 4 in 2016 (horizon earned a second place finish in 2017). in what was anticipated to be a close battle, god of war handily beat out rdr2 despite the latter earning a higher average rating on aggregate sites. this is actually the second time a sony title beat out a higher rated rockstar game during the same year - the last of us beat gta 5 in 2013, by an even bigger margin of votes.

xbox one was not represented by an exclusive for a second consecutive year. note, that in 2018 all other platforms are represented, with PC, Switch, PSVR, and even IOS earning votes.

I swear I must be the only person who didn't think Spider-Man was anything special. And I'm a HUGE Spider-Man fan, he's my favorite comic book character. This latest game though is overrated. To me, it's just Spider-Man: Arkham City except nowhere near as good as Arkham City.

Its a non shitty super hero game. The standards are a rock bottom.
