All extreme ideologies are shit. When will people realize that the best way to live is in the middle.

Holy shit..........you really have no idea what it is you believe in, so you call it "the middle"

Its people who don't know what to think, but go around telling everybody that they DO KNOW, its people like that who are absolutely slowing the human race down.

In the middle means taking the best ideas from everywhere. Compromise and finding solutions that work for everyone. Wow extreme

You still can't describe it.

Those "best ideas" would have been combined together and had a name for it by now.

Let me give you an example: Socialism is the base version of a thing. Democratic Socialism is a specific version of Socialism implemented a certain way.

Social Democracy is something actually quite different but it takes CERTAIN elements of Socialism, cuts out the rest, combines it with traditional Capitalism.

Its telling that you have not zero'd in on something at this point. The other thing about being in "the middle" is that is an admission that you are swayed by extremes, or whatever it is you identify as extreme.

@Cookester15 @jehurey you are both wrong. Good day.

jk, cooke is right in his second sentence. No idea why he'd say "taking the best ideas from radicals" when moderates dont think radicals have any best idea lol. Moderates are the general population who definitely DO know what to think: That radicals have zero grounds to prophesize what works for them will work for everyone else.

To moderates, what works for everyone else, is what works for them. To be a moderate is exactly to slow down progress, I see that as a great thing, because rapidly progressing towards your radical idea could provoke catastrophic consequences. While maintaining the status quo that benefits the radicals in power, clearly doesn't work for everyone either.

Except a "moderate" in the US is not like in other countries.

Bernie Sanders is remotely close to extreme. In Europe, he's Lean-Left.

The thing is Centrism is one of those things where good intentions lead to unexpected consequences.

Centrism leads to cop-outs when dealing with issues. Issues get worse and worse. And other times, Centrism keeps bad ideas alive. Things slow down too much. And when its time to react, they are slow to do so.

There are times when you need to steer left, and times when you need to steer right on certain things. There will be a day in which the middle-class is doing well, and we don't need to keep high taxes on rich people anymore.....so we SHOULD lower taxes on the rich. But right now, we need to steer to the left to fix the current situation.

Trump got elected because a Black president and Transpeople using bathrooms and Obamacare, was too much too fast to white people. That's what moderates are here for, slow down the process of what seems "right" to "radicals" can become first and foremost, "right" to the mass/mainstream-wise, and it won't be as much of a big deal. Obama being half white for instance, was a nicer transition than a full blown Wesley Snipes. Racist but true

Trump being elected means that trying to MODERATE those people was not good enough. Sometimes, you need to drag the fucking country into the 21st century.

This isn't the first time we've tried to appease racist white people. We've made this mistake before, and it was a costly mistake.

We did not enforce strong enough change during Reconstruction after the Civil War. When the North won, they took it easy on the South, when it shouldn't have. The South was being led by wealthy plantation owners, and the North should have absolutely CRUSHED them and taken all of their power and influence.

Part of this was because of Abe Lincoln being assassinated. The North should have regulated the South the way Europe regulated the shit out of Germany. Instead we let "Southern Pride" fester. And we paid for it, with the South being a fucked up place for decades and decades after the Civil War. We're still feeling it today.

So white people in the South lost the Civil War, and got their egos hurt. And the North (stupidly) took it easy on them and let them control their own local towns and state governments. What do you think these white people were going to do?

Same thing lemmings do for weeks after an Xbox game flops. Get pissy over everything.

Wut? lol, I'm saying due to too much radical progress, you're saying because we tried to moderate. The facts speak for themselves, white babies are minority to hispanics, transfolk demanding and given rights, gay marriage, black prez, obama socialist care, BLM, straight white guys getting egos checked, and ESPECIALLY the feminist movement, and having Hillary Clinton run for prez, was radical sensory overload. I think Chris Rock remarked on that in one of his sketches too.

The North not doing that is why the confederate flag is but a symbol for """"""south""""" (read: white people south) pride and not a full pledge CWII

Uh? We're not feeling shit but geographical circumstances. NY and LA are transportation magnets, for Europe and Asia, the South has... South America.

Why is it you focus on the south but not the Mid west, far more known to be "White America" than the South?
