Playstation Tablet 1,725
Really excited for their console reveal. Bring it on. Edited March 12, 2019 by Team 2019
jehurey 3,230
So Google has already managed to generate more hype than Microsoft. I think they are going to absolutely beat down MS in the streaming business.
Ike★ 2,908
Makes sense that they'd enter the gaming streaming market. Android absolutely dominates mobile user marketshare.
Vini 430
This is DOA if this is another internet streaming box bullshit Hopefully they got some real hardware innovations to announce
Playstation Tablet 1,725
Google is fantastic, its the reason MS will be running to get their games up on Switch and Playstation. This is what the MS heads see as the "real" competition.

For Chromebooks, it'll probably be an app. For Android phones, it'll probably be an app. For TVs, it'll probably be a chromecast. I hope they are smart and make it work with any bluetooth wireless controller.

Playstation Tablet 1,725
if the dedicated box has a few actual exclusives, it already beat XBox. I can't believe there is a greater chance I'll get a google console than fucking MS.

I'd even like an OG XBox level exclusive line up. Good hardware + handful of great exclusives. Though digital only would be a cockblock for me, and thats happening 99%. One time I was shopping on the Best Buy website, and came across the product page for The Darkness 2, and they had the ability to play a demo. And from within the product page, it opened up a small window and it was either OnLive or Gaikai, and it started streaming the game within a couple of minutes of allowing a plug-in to enable and having the game load. It wasn't full screen, it was probably 720p, but it looked great, and it controlled fine on my PC running off ethernet. This was like 7-8 years ago.

jehurey 3,230
So they are making a controller, I was afraid they would do this. I understand why they would. They want people to see it as a Google-branded platform, so they can't tell customers to use other controllers. AND, this controller would probably come packaged with Chromecasts. I had heard that Chromecast devices were having blowout sales recently because all signs were pointing to them clearing out inventory.

jehurey 3,230
The controller is fake in the sense that those images are amatuer mockups. But those were created by actual patent diagrams submitted by Google.
