Nobody played AC here... the friend code thread is ironically more deserted of sheep than the game's island..  The only talk...is sales.

Funny.. are people going around and bragging about the sales of DOOM and HLA?

More people here played HLA ffs... and it requires VR and only sold a million...

AC sells well because Nintendo merged their markets... its the only Nintendo game released this year so far... and people right now can seriously relate to being deserted apart from others..  The Switch overhyped train continues.  Casual sheep are eating it up.

No, those four people did.

Show me more than four people having played Doom Eternal or Half Life Alex?

Are you telling that Half Life Alex is such a game that.................people here aren't compelled to talk about this supposedly amazing benchmark VR experience???????????

Okay..........looks like you've now reverted to a circular argument again about "merging their markets"

I'm going to repeat the SAME THINGS that debunked that already:

-Animal Crossing has underwhelmed on BOTH Wii and 3DS platforms, especially in the West.

This game breaks that pattern. So clearly it can't just be "Switch trendiness". The game itself appears to be a comprehensive entry in the series that does alot of things that made people excited about the game.

Every Animal Crossing game has brought some new gameplay gimmick in some way, but none of them broke out and sold like crazy.

Let me give an example about your THEORY about people buying games because the Switch is "trending" doesn't hold up.

This game is a Nintendo first-party game, received quite a bit of marketing from Nintendo......and on top of that, it was developed by Game Freak, the makers of the Pokemon games.

But it made no waves in sales. None.

It didn't review well, either. It has a 64 metacritic score.

Your logic doesn't hold up. Animal Crossing scored very well, people liked it enough, it sold very well.

Luigi's Mansion 3 is not a "trend" success game. It was done VERY WELL, it sold VERY WELL.

Ring Fit adventure reviewed very well, with people calling it way superior than previous Nintendo exercise games. It sold out.

Nintendo Labo did NOT review well.........it did NOT sell well..........it went on clearance a month ago for $20 each set.

Your theory simply doesn't hold any water.

Jerry watched it on his Samsung phone, it can’t handle HD videos.

What about the Nintendo footage?

They aren't, but even Doom Eternal, Cyberpunk, AC and other major 3rd parties looks like a feast compared to Switch this year  Let's not even talk about comparing it to Persona 5 Royal, Dreams, FF

It's trendiness dude..lmfao... and their markets are merged... and we're quarantined...

Nobody here talks about this shit.  If there are sheep here playing it... its because they have some sense of duty to eat the shit that Nintendo regurgitates for them.

You're not convincing anyone dude.  Nobody HERE gives a shot about this game.  I don't care how many quarantine kids and their mothers are playing it... all you have to talk about with this game is sales... which is exactly what you're doing now.. despite that I'm not contesting the fact that the game is selling well.  Its a known IP.  Its riding Switch hype... and its Nintendos only release at a time when ppl are desperate for games like this.  And no shit its "better" than the previous entries... its on a better more capable system with better online functionality.  Both markets for this game are together.

Lmao trying to claim that Switch hype has nothing to do with it when the game has already outsold Nintendo's lifetime prediction for it.....

Doesn't change the fact that nobody here gives a fuck about it.

No it isn't

At the end of the day, they're getting good games that review well.

Dude..........nobody would've told you that Luigi's Mansion would sell 6.33 million and counting, at over $50 no less.

Quote

At Nintendo's recent nine-month financial results briefing, company president Shuntaro Furukawa compared its sales to the previous entry in the series on the 3DS:

Compare to the sell through of Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon released in March 2013, it is off to more than twice as fast of a start during the same time period from the release. Compare to Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, its momentum of sell-through is particularly stronger in North America and Europe, the ratio of overseas sales has been high for this title.

He also noted how people in their twenties were the main consumers of Luigi's third outing, immediately after its release, and said how children and family's joined in on the fun around the holiday period:

In addition, although people in their twenties were the main purchasers immediately after release, the ratio of children and families increased as the holiday season approached.

Real gamers are finding the value in these well-made games. Luigi's Mansion is NOT a "hot" Nintendo IP........it absolutely is not. Nintendo simply delivered an absolutely high-quality product that was evident from the reviews and from word of mouth. It created its own momentum.

I already gave a clear line of logic.

Well Reviewed = Well Received = Great sales

Not well reviewed = not well received = Sales go nowhere.

Nintendo sent Labo to the bargain bin. Think about that considering that it was originally a $70 product, and it went to $19.99 everywhere.

The only person here attempting to base their argument on pure conjecture...........is you.

At the end of the day..........the Switch is getting games (E-X-C-L-U-S-I-V-E games) scoring 80 and above on a consistent basis. That is where the momentum comes from.

A console that doesn't get unique games on any regular consistency, and then those games DISAPPOINT upon launch..........that's a platform that gains NO MOMENTUM at all.

It's impressive for sure.

Nintendo found the ultimate way to merge their handheld franchises which reach huge markets, and their console business, which allows them to charge higher prices.  Any shit Nintendo releases at the moment simply rides the wave... and people eat this shit up.

That salt :mj:

AC is not a handheld franchise.

AC was always a big Seller check the series sales.

Not all Nintendo games sell gangbusters.
