Teh_Diplomat 2,054
US economy suffers worst quarter since the second world war as GDP shrinks by 32.9% https://www.theguardian.com/business/2020/jul/30/us-gdp-economy-worst-quarter-covid-19-unemployment Quote The US economy shrank by an annual rate of 32.9% between April and June, its sharpest contraction since the second world war, government figures revealed on Thursday, as more signs emerged of the coronavirus pandemic’s heavy toll on the country’s economy. The record-setting quarterly fall in economic growth compared to the same time last year came as another 1.43 million Americans filed for unemployment benefits last week, a second week of rises after a four-month decline. Quote The rise in unemployment comes as Congress is at loggerheads about how to implement a new round of financial support for those who have lost their jobs in the shutdown. The US initially pledged to pay people laid off by the pandemic an extra $600 in benefits a week but that extra payment expires on Friday and its replacement has yet to be finalized. Some 20 million American’s qualified for the extra payments and the payments now account for 15% of the entire nation’s wages. Edited July 30, 2020 by Teh_Diplomat

That's a ludicrous amount of money, like it's insane and more than any person can expect to spend. Why does a person need that much wealth?

Ike★ 2,919
“The depth of economic devastation our nation is experiencing is not an act of God, it’s a failure of presidential leadership,” the presumptive Democratic nominee for president said in a statement released by his campaign. “Had President Trump taken immediate and decisive action, tens of thousands of lives and millions of jobs would never have been lost.” Came out swinging. This whole campaign for Biden is like a 5 foot putt.

jehurey 3,273
why do you think he tweeted about delaying the election? he's desperately wanting to take attention away from his massive economic failure. its truly unbelievable.............this is vintage Republicanism. they tried to go cheap and half-ass on the SOCIAL ISSUE (the pandemic) because they care more about the economy. But half-assing the social issue is what is going to cause the economy to completely crumble. This is why you would rather OVERPAY to handle a social issue, because it costs you more if you don't.
