it would be pretty mediocre as a non vr game. It doesn't have the enemy or weapon variety to compete against other FPSs in the genre.

Valve doesn't have the team to make the HL game you guys want from them in the traditional sense at the moment.

 

If it's not new or pushing the boundaries Valve doesn't want to make it.  HL in VR is STUNNING because those visuals in THAT fidelity in virtual space is the top of the class.  Valve wouldn't give their team 200M to develop a game like Sony does... most everything would need to be outsourced and then it's barely even a valve game anymore.

 

Valve doesn't expand, and they don't make games like that anymore for a reason.  They're risky, they can't be as creative as they'd like when they are spending that amount of money.. and quite frankly..they don't have to.  They make plenty of money not having to rely on games... which frees them up to do smaller projects they can manage which actually interests them.. like VR.

 

HL"3" will release... and it wont compete visually with Naughty Dogs PS5 game.. and people will call Valve shit and say HL sucks ect ect....  It's not even worth it

Being on Valve's payroll pays a lot I hope  the excuses you go to defend them is kind of funny. They have the means to make a awesome HL3 but they just don't give af, especially with the copious amount of money they're making from steam and DOTA 2 garbage.
