jehurey 3,318 Posted April 24, 2023 Share Posted April 24, 2023 (edited) This is another thing why those people who are advocating that all games be universal simply don't understand about how and why Sony and Nintendo still want to maintain the traditional console business model. The best marketing to convince people to buy a $60-$70 game...........is by having the console sitting there in your living room, right beside your television. Its like a billboard that they've managed to sneak into your very own home. When you watch a commercial for a video game on tv, and it says "Play it on Playstation" they show you a picture of the console at the very end. You're like "hey! I have one of those" and are reminded that you can play the game on your console. This type of manipulative marketing actually works on people.
