I think it only hurts him. The election denying stuff only pushes away independents and moderates and Trump's base isn't big enough to win a general election. But my god the reaction and commentary from the talking heads. "This is the end of democracy" "boycott CNN" etc etc. He's the fucking frontrunner for the Republican party. His voice is going to get out no matter if it's on CNN or Fox or independent media. You can't think deplatforming works at that level. And it just makes the MSM look less trustworthy. More democracy includes interviewing people you dislike.

It does hurt him in a general election.   The only people that loved it are people who already were supporting him no matter what he does. 

 

For everyone else, it pushes them further away.

Yes, the point is a one view leftist shouldn't be insulting people for being in the middle. Then again I don't live in a country where the Government bodies are separated in a clear distinctive left and right. Here our parties represents all degrees of the political spectrum, some of which are more in the middle.

That's why so many of the "independents" over the past  7 to 10 years claim their overall views "never changed, but now diversity or being nice to trans people is too much. There is very little the Dems and Republicans have in common that a single issue alone keeps a person supporting a party other another.

I dont think being independent is bad or an insult, just that most people who claim to be independent are dumb, single issue people and most times it's a stupid single issue. They'll like support Bernie Sanders, then someone completely his antithesis like Trump when he's no longer in the race.  They also tend to be the stupid fence sitters that need up to the days before to "make up their minds" about who they are going to vote for, or stupid and impatient and vote counter in midterms basically reversing their previous vote in less time than their previous vote could actually become meaningful. 

 

I believe in consistent and informed voting. For simple minded people, voting all of the place or counter to you best interest actually sounds like a good idea.

Somehow you manage to make this about trans. Pretty sure there are independents who are more on the progressive side also.

 

None of what you are saying really apply to me. I still can't call myself a real conservative. I'm pro choice and believe in some socialist concepts as a Canadian citizen. I'm more of social conservative. I already told you before, remove the woke progressive ideologues and I would call myself a liberal. 

 

At the end of the day there's nothing wrong with being on the right side of certain issues and left on the others. That's a lot better than believing only your side is ever the right choice for everything if you ask me.
