Helldivers 2 on PC will be requiring PSN account starting soon

Recommended Posts

And predicably tons of PC crybabies are crying about it.  Demanding refunds and leaving/changing their reviews to negative.

This was apparently always supposed to be the case, and the game store page said that a PSN account would be required..

IMO, again, this is no big fucking deal.  It's something you might as well just get used to because all of these multiplayer games that are cross-platform are going to require it.

In fact, I'd like it if Steam came with a built in account manager, so you basically just link your accounts to your Steam account, then any game which requires a log-in just queries your Steam account and logs in with the associated account automatically.

Missed this whole saga here but holy shit, Hermits truly proving why they are called Hermits.      Sony handled this very poorly but quite possibly the largest overreaction to something I ha

hermits are such little bitches lmao

This is the kind of crybaby bullshit that will scare Sony away from bringing their GAAS games to PC.

MS, EA, Ubisoft all require accounts to play their games on Steam and no one bats an eyelid. Sony asks for people to create a free PSN account that requires only 2 minutes to do so and these retards start riots lol. Bunch of idiots. I've never seen a more entitled bunch of morons than some PC gamers out there. When the game was first released on Steam, it had a PSN requirement on the Store Page of the game. Sony temporarily lifted the requirement due to launch backend issues and now they are bringing it back. None of this shit is worth crying over. A PSN account doesn't cost any money or time to create. I swear PC gamers are their own worst enemies sometimes.

I know it's not that it requires the log-in, but rather that it didn't require it before.. and now they're trying to "change" it.. which is what's pissing people off.

It really is a lesson on how reactive people are these days.  Same shit with the Stellar Blade thing.  If that Bunny suit would have never been shown without the lace undergarment... and them "changing" it... there would have been no outrage at all about "censorship"..

It's just dumb.  Most people wont give a shit.. but these companies really need to remember how reactive some people can be to even the stupidest of changes.

I stopped playing after 3 hours and uninstalled. Do people really like it enough to make some new account for “player safety” (banning people for being meanies)? Hopefully they make a big enough stink so I can get a refund because the game never clicked with me.

I would be annoyed but wouldn't say anything about it, but this is going to affect a lot of people very negatively. There are countries where PSN is non-accessible and you can't even make an account however steam is and people were able to buy this game in those countries.

This will effectively lock those people out from accessibility of the game.

Several of the things I'm reading are people feel like they've been bait and switched, and some of the other complaints appear to be they don't trust Sony with their data given that they've been hacked about eight times.

LOL remember when they tried to say that cows were crying about Sea of Thieves requiring a login.

And now we're just quietly talking about 15,000 PC users posting negative reviews in ONE DAY.............LESS THAN one day :tom::tom::tom:

PC gamers are the biggest crybabies out there...........but let's be honest here, a good chunk of them are actually lemmings that RAN to the PC, and they thought they could play Playstation games anonymously.

God knows we've seen the lemmings on this forum attempt to do exactly that :drake:

Democracy has spoken, Sony dun fucked up.

Game is getting nuked into orbit, and rightly so. Don't bait and switch your customers.

:hest:

“Bait and switch your customers” when this was on the Store page on the game for weeks before the game launched and the game had a notice in-game telling people to make a PSN account on day one?

Sounds like the “customers”  can’t read and are throwing tantrums because they are literally idiots that were too stupid to read the game's requirements before purchasing :cruise:

We all know most people don't read any of those things.

Damn though, over 30K negative reviews in a single day

You say that, but this honestly isn't nearly as bad as PS gamers losing their shit and starting a petition with over 75K signatures because a piece of lace was added to a costume in Stellar Blade :tom:

After all this bitching and crying over a simple PSN account I doubt Sony will be looking favorably at bringing more of their games to PC at a speedy rate.

This whole shit is a stupid overreaction. All major companies require accounts for MAU tracking. Everyone is okay with MS, Ubi, EA, etc. asking for accounts but want to die when Sony asks them to use 3 minutes to create an account. If I'm Sony I'm looking extremely cautiously about bringing more games to PC after this fiasco. Sure, I'll still bring my GAAS games to PC but definitely won't be speeding up the release of my prestige SP titles on the platform.

TBH, gamers in general are whiny bitches. The kind of shit that riles up the community baffles me sometimes. I start thinking that there's no way these people are functional adults in society :mj:

You're a delusional moron, this game has grossed them $400 million on PC.

Get used to Sony releasing all of their games, it's done, accept it.

Nah, that shit wont have any affect on that at all man.  Sony know it's because they enforced it after the fact... not that it's required in the first place.

Sony are speeding up bringing their games to PC dude.. it's not changing. :D

Yea.  One thing I didn't consider though, and I saw someone tweet it, is that many countries don't have official PSN support yet, so what's going to happen to them?

Dev responded on discord

Sony really should have just bit the bullet with this release and just demanded it from games going forward.

As for their strategy regarding regional issues... man... it would be in their best interest to simply allow any Steam accounts from those regions to bypass the PSN requirement as they are currently.  Only make PSN sign in a requirement in countries which officially support it.
