Everything is going according to plan. MS is gonna preempt Playstation by too much and make their Dreamcast. If PS5 Pro is definitely happening, there's no way we get a PS6 before 2028. MS can't wait that long.

No it wont be their Dreamcast.  If Xbox already releases games everywhere, they don't live or die by how many consoles they sell.  MS already has a core audience addicted to GamePass... they're probably going to be happy enough just selling a console to that group.  The only way they could really fail at that point would be if 3rd parties completely stop supporting the console... but if it's a "PC Xbox" as some rumors suggest it could be.. then it will have support regardless.

 

If GamePass subs suddenly crater, and they can't find any more growth there.. then they'll drop the console and it will just be PC + PS + Nintendo

They already want to pull the plug now but aren't because they want to try the handheld angle, if that flops too there's nothing that will stop Satya from shutting Xbox down and only leaving the studios running as third party studios.

There's a first time for everything you retard. If the handheld flops, they'll have no reason to keep Xbox going. Satya has already shown that he has limits with Phil's bullshiit by the fact he's already porting Xbox games to PS5 and Switch. That wasn't Phil's idea that was Satya's. If they go another gen of hardware flopping you can kiss Xbox goodbye. No company even if they are a 3 trillion dollar company has money to waste on a product that no one is buying. I don't know why you're too stupid to realize this, you keep coping talking about them making more Xbox hardware when the hardware isn't moving and every indication we've seen in the last 6 months is showing that Satya is running out of patience

GamePass is the reason to keep Xbox console hardware going, at least for now.  If GamePass starts to drop and lose subs, then I could see them scrapping hardware all together.. but again.. when they're releasing their games on all platforms... they don't need to sell 100M consoles to be successful.. you know that.. so it wouldn't be like the Dreamcast.. the Dreamcast never had 30-50M people locked into paying a subscriptions for online and games...

If MS is going 3rd party and the next Xbox is just a Windows PC with a console UI, that's a win.

 

Two key things need to die:

- "Xbox" versions of games

- Xbox Gamepass Core

 

If they try to make another Xbox like the Series X/S, it will be their Dreamcast generation.
