Again, you don’t understand how forecasting works, and I’m not going to write a thesis on it. In simple terms, the cone represents a path, based on the health of a disturbance, and its potential movement and strength (determined by existing pressure systems, surrounding land, water temperature, etc.). This potential storm can easily hit Louisiana instead, or die out. We never urge people to prepare until around 2 or 3 days before impact, once the storm is more defined and most models are in agreement for landfall. But it’s good to know about potential threats, ahead of time, when you are in the process of rebuilding your home, or clearing debris.

They do the same shit over here in the north east with snow, although that time that we got 4 feet of snow was cool, but that happened like 15 years ago. So fuck outta here with your "forecasting", sucio balcero maricon 👃

That if no big deals are made that more people would be going on about their lives and die or get injured? The biggest reason why stores get cleared out is people preparing for the possibilities of not having power, running water, ruined roads, and closed stores. It's not like people are stocking up bunkers expecting the the apocalypse. You are constantly proving your stupidity here. Edited October 11 by Mr. Impossible

JonDnD 3,076
Imagine downplaying a cat 3 hurricane as selling panic lol Imagine telling a minimum of 225 families that lost loved ones from Helene that they shouldn't be scared of a little water . Thousands of peoples homes , pets , family , lives.....gone or destroyed from Milton....well the corpos just wanted to sell more milk and eggs ! These storms literally changed geography and destroyed the lives of so many people . It's such a selfish way of thinking to peg this as selling panic.

I am not downplaying the actual damage but rather the fact that they were forecasting the end of Florida as we speak. That's not reporting but rather pandering to sensational ism. If it would have hit as a cat 4, it would have destroyed a part of the west coast of Florida, not the whole state. Look up Hurricane Ian. That’s a good example of the damage potential, had it been more intense.

More than 100 tornados, reducing homes to rubble, in the east coast from Milton (and it was a west coast hit). These hurricanes are unpredictable, so that’s why it’s good to be safe if you are in the cone of concern, even if you aren’t getting the direct hit.
Remij 5,101
Was driving home from work today and heard on the news that a guy was killed returning back to his house after the storm. He was surveying the damage done, and as he was going through some of the wreckage he got electrocuted by a downed power line. So you can just imagine how many fatalities come after a heavy storm like that which is capable of doing so much damage to so many structures. It's dangerous to even go back to your property just to inspect it. These storms have got to be respected.
