soup 105
CT and Grandia 2 are really the only 2 easy recommendations. It' seems as if they're the only ones that people without any interest in the genre can dive into. TWEWY has a decent combat system coupled with awful characters and tactics ogre has a steep barrier to entry. Edited May 6, 2013 by -CM²-

Angry Mike 18
I'm thinking of picking up Ni no Kuni again as well. It's been a while. Stopped playing at the part where I just freed the dragon.
Mindphaser 138
Lots of retro shit. Square stuff mainly. Which games? SD3, Romancing SaGa, FFIV 3rd one is my favorite I'm working my way to it. Just finished up FFL3 and starting on the first game on SNES. Don't ask me why but I'm also playing Mystic Quest. Yes it is fucking easy and a beginner's RPG but I like the simplicity and the soundtrack is cool. I think after these games I will be playing the translated DQ5 and DQ6. I don't know why sheep claim ownership of these types of games. I'm not playing Nintendo titles here. You mention that you're emulating something from that generation and the Nintendo fans think it has something to do with them.
Angry Mike 18
Simple is fun sometimes
Mr. House 3,371
Mystic Quest One of the worst RPG I ever played to completion.
REDE 66
i'm very interested in the game, catherine. it's good, if you like the block climbing whatever you'll probably like it. it's pretty simple but i thought it was pretty addictive, i don't know if that's how anyone else felt about it though. it has a few flaws that really stick out though, mostly to do with the story that i won't describe because i might give spoilers it's still quite a charming story though. gameplay-wise it can be pretty frustrating towards the end because of some randomness (you get blocks that change randomly into another kind of block towards then end and depending on what you get you can totally fuck yourself and have to start again) and some other shit
-GD-X★ 7,920
replaying p4g. i'm obsessed with this game.
