Yeah for sure I'm hoping we get more than Midgar for Part 1. Hard to imagine Midgar is big enough to be it's own game even if they expand it.

There's a huge world outside of Midgar but Midgar is still pretty big and Square is expanding the original game. Plus the game was initially developed by CyberConnect but Square wasn't pleased with what they see and rebooted it themselves. I mean this is Square we are talking about, we're lucky it didn't take them 10 years lmao.

Yeah I can see them releasing Remasters for games like PE and Chrono Cross. But a AAA current gen game just doesn't seem likely though.

I'd rather they spend the resources on sequels or remakes if they are revisiting those franchises. We have enough Remasters.

The gunblade trigger will be harder to pull off too. Not a big problem in both cases though, you can toggle speed increase with just a button.

Oh and I'm reminded of how freaking long it takes to summon GFs in FF8, and you are forced to watch the animation every single time. The speed increase would be a godsend.

I don't mind buying it again. Once you experience the 3x speed increase in FF7, you can't go back. Battles are just too slow without the speed increase.

Square's wording on this is not so clear though. They did say that the game is set in Midgar but that could just mean that the majority of Part 1 is Midgar. If Part 1 is indeed strictly Midgar then FF7 Remake will be 3 parts, a trilogy. Midgar is only like 20-25% of the entire game lol.

Is it me or is this a bigger upgrade than FF7 and FF9 Remasters? Also, any mention of release date yet?

This is definitely day 1 for me. I was skeptical Square could pull it off but the E3 showing blew away any doubt. Meanwhile I'll be getting FF8 Remaster.

Wow FF7 look absolutely phenomenal. The visuals, gameplay, music, characters in this trailer is fucking perfect, even the voice acting! Fucking hyped as the battle music ramps up. This reminded me how FF7 single handedly won the console war. I'm so glad I beat FF7 again recently so I can instantly relate to everything shown in the trailer. This really makes me hope that Square can make another FF as compelling FF7, they can't rely on it forever.

We’ll see when Stadia launches later this year. But I don’t think they would choose Destiny 2 as the game for their paid subscription if they aren’t confident it can be handled well.

Nah PVE is perfectly doable. Destiny somehow hides lag from the player very well. From time to time you see enemies teleporting or disappearing but it still controls and appears smooth as butter. You don’t feel any lag at all even though it may be lagging. Destiny handles this aspect very well. You’d understand if you played Destiny. As long as you don’t play PVP, streaming is definitely viable for destiny.

MS needed to buy a Bungie which is the best purchase they ever made. Bizarre they actually let them go though. Would be super interesting to read what went behind the scenes in the lead up to the break up.
