(CNN) Suicide rates increased by 25% across the United States over nearly two decades ending in 2016, according to research published Thursday by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Twenty-five states experienced a rise in suicides by more than 30%, the government report finds.

More than half of those who died by suicide had not been diagnosed with a mental health condition, said Dr. Anne Schuchat, principal deputy director of the CDC.
"These findings are disturbing. Suicide is one of the top 10 causes of death in the US right now, and it's one of three causes that is actually increasing recently, so we do consider it a public health problem -- and something that is all around us," Schuchat said. The other two top 10 causes of death that are on the rise are Alzheimer's disease and drug overdoses, she noted.
In 2016 alone, about 45,000 lives were lost to suicide.
"Our data show that the problem is getting worse," Schuchat said.

A radical shift in female independence breaking down the importance of family. A radical shift in parenting, the lack of discipline and consequences in the home, the typical household being a single parent. The coddling and encouragement of mental disorders. Kids being taught that they can't lose, kids being taught that they're special, deserve the world and can do and be anything they want. Young people being led to believe that worthless fields of study are of value. Young people being led to believe a college education will land them a great career and pay by default when the reality is in most cases it plunges them into insane debt and they end up working a completely different job. Young people not having any marketable or practical skills in the real world because no one around them has ever gotten their hands dirty and they learn nothing as a result. 

 

People are being setup for failure, they're being raised and taught about a world that doesn't exist. When they hit the pavement as real adults reality comes crashing down on them and they can't handle it, they were not built for it.

% increase in male to female suicide would be good to know. They'll probably avoid that statistic because it doesnt suit an agenda.

It's kind of expected that for first world countries suicide would be one of the main causes of death since all other causes will be lower. People dont have to deal with material problems like getting food to survive but with existentialist problems.

Note that there's about a 65% of increase of anti-depressant use around the same time frame, with women more likely to use them. So both genders are unhappy, men are more willing to go all the way with suicide.
