These types of stores are finished, and this is only going to push more and more people to digital.  Next gen, digital adoption is going to skyrocket.

This is actually something wonderful, when they get the axe think how many video games are going to flood the market and how cheap everything will be.

Another thread bites the dust.

Gamestop's problem is that the purchasing experience is just so terrible. I pre-ordered Sekiro through them for that letter opener and I got pitched on: multiple pre-order offers, a sale they were run

All these gaming dedicated stores that massive are most worthless. Shit prices and what not compared to online. The specialized smaller ones are great.

You must not be familiar with the US, we don't really have "smaller" shops, or game stores, they don't exist anymore and have been wiped from the map by GameStop.

Once they go it's just meager gaming sections in department stores, that's it.

Remember when we used to go shopping at the mall? Lol

In probably 5 more years most retail will be dead and gone. Probably just the grocery stores left and maybe....maybe best buy

Best buy, Target and Amazon have crippled Gamestop =/= physical ia dead.

Our Fred Meyer stores (huge local department store chain) are already gutting out their gaming and entertainment departments one by one.

Best Buy and Target have meager stock, Walmart is worse, so basically there's just Amazon. People will say fuck it and just buy digitally instead of waiting around for shipping.

no they don't :rofls:

Why do you always go to your local stores and assume it looks the same across the country...... haven't you learned from that as yet?

Benji has access to best buy data.... and they move enough hardware and Software Nation wide for him to use that data and accurately predict entire NPD results.

Digital will happen.  Not sure why people are thinking it won't.

No one is saying it wouldn't happen... it will in about 5 to 8 years.

DynamiteCop is saying digital is already the majority on consoles.... whereas the data actually shows its only between 20 to 24 percent.

the amount of OTHER arguments that lemmings need to make in order to portray Microsoft as "not-failing" is fun to watch.

On the flip side, electronics retailer Best Buy has been a stock market darling and overperforming wall street estimates. So, between them, Walmart and Amazon, retail video games will have plenty of homes for quite a while.

Don't even try with me you fuck stick.

This is Seattle, Nintendo is here, Microsoft is here, this is one of the largest video game and technology hubs in the United States and you want to talk to me about what I'm seeing in the stores here is not representative of the broad scope?

We have dozens of stores in the area that can be referenced from, they have dick for used games except some pre-approved refurbished stuff, they don't get everything in stock in a timely fashion or at all and rotate stock out in a very timely fashion.

Their game sections are getting smaller and smaller, the options more limited, this is happening everywhere so don't B.S.
