:D

soccer is popular, bc it’s for poor people. Anyone can play it.

but when it comes to moolah, one lil American sport makes more money than all those lil soccer leagues

:reg:

in fact, any two American leagues make more money than ALL soccer leagues in the world.. lol. Combine our least watched sports, nhl and nba, and they dwarf all soccer leagues combined as well

whos clueless?

Although money made doesnt =/= skill or anything, but you said I was wrong.

Where’s Champions League in that Plus all the cup trophies a football league team plays in. One single club participated in up to 5 different tournaments in a season all generating their own revenue. Unlike the singular system of nfl and nba etc

the funniest part about all that is the total inverse of entertainment to money generated from American sports. which is what we are actually talking About anyway. Or do you want to suggest that baseball is better than nba and nhl?

the most backed American sports are the slowest and most boring because it is a advertisement driven industry and the slowest sports fit the most ads. Soccer can never be big there cause it simply can’t fit Ads. There is no stops outside of half time. Hence why shit like mlb and nfl is pushed so much. Watching more ads and talking than the actual sport.

First of all, 'soccer' is football. You know the game where you kick a ball with your foot. Not run and throw an egg.   Secondly, you're right, one is the only sport that really matters on a

Soccer had its 15 minutes when those ugly lesbians tried to make a sport a movement.    Thankfully people lost interest real quick .

Didn’t that same US women’s soccer team get beat by a high school male team?   edit LOL yup

It's like where the fuck is all that money coming from.

It’s pretty clear that there is a direct relation to how slow and broken a sport is in America to how much money it generates due to ad revenue. The more fluid a sport is the less it makes in the states because the less ad time the sport has. It’s why NHL is last and nba is behind mlb and surely no one is going to suggest that fn baseball is better than basketball and Ice hockey.

So you're suggesting that broadcasters are giving a piece of their ad revenue pie to the MLB after paying the MLB to broadcast their games? That doesn't make any sense. The ad/sponsor revenue appears to be exclusive to their stadiums/market. That's why theirs company names included in park/stadium names like AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Park, NRG Arena, etc.

Edit: It appears that the TV deals to broadcast games is the cash cow based on a few articles I've read.

If you’re gonna boast about a sport being tough then actually have it tough, not fat men in padding playing in 5 second intervals :mj:

People died in the nfl prior to pads. Nothing is tough about rugby in comparison to NFL, it’s a wrap up focused league with very little blindsides.

That's exactly what I meant. The TV deals to broadcast the games would be worth a fuck tonne due to the amount of advertising to large viewerships you can do during the games. MLB and NHL can have the same viewership figures but you're going to fit a LOT more ads in a MLB match than a NHL match.

Literally a Rugby World Cup going on right now with 20 nations in it :freeman:

How's that Gridiron doing outside of the single country that cares.

American Football and Baseball are the only 2 sports where you could be fat and overweight and still manage to excel in them. Its no wonder they're so popular in this country.

Really not sure what your point is here. There’s certain athletic abilities that doesent require you to be thin or ripped. In boxing the current heavyweight champion of the world is fat as hell and he beat someone that looks like a body builder to become the champ.

doesent mean he doesent have any athletic ability

Fuuuuuck

Yeah it's insane. I can't stand the sport personally but it is tough af. Stupidly so.

It's the most popular sport here is Aus though.

If you want to see non hit highlights of the sport though:

This is what it looks like where both attack and defence are just constantly contesting catches. Seeing something 6 ppl contest a ball and having one climb atop the rest of the catch. Can be spectacular at times.
