Amy Coney Barrett is confirmed to the Supreme Court

Recommended Posts

On Monday, the majority of the Senate, led by Republicans, voted 52-48 to confirm the federal judge in a vote to fill the Supreme Court vacancy left by the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Six of the nine judges on the Supreme Court were nominated by Republican presidents, with Barrett being the third justice successfully nominated by President Trump.

Expand the number or judges to 11.

Interesting tidbit.

As mentioned before, there is no law that defines the number of Supreme Court Justices, but the number did settle on 9 right around the time we established the Court of Appeals.

At the time, there were 9 districts for the Court of Appeals, and therefore there were 9 Supreme Court Justices.

Well, now there's 13 districts for the Court of Appeals.:reg:

Well SCOTUS was been expanded a few times, even shrunk at some point. Both by the President and the Congress it seems.

How does one unstack the court?

He is going to unstack the far right stacked court(s) by adding more judges who are not far right.

Don't buy the bullshit about originalists, they flip flop on that. These judges who make far right SUBJECTIVE rulings are selected by far right politicians to appease their far right base. That's all it's about.
