I really hope the rollout of the vaccines make sense

Recommended Posts

vaccinate the elderly, the immunocompromised and healthcare workers first. Healthy people should be at the back of the line. In fact most healthy people wont even need it, if they get COVID and beat it its the same as getting a vaccine, and if everyone that needs a vaccination has it then it wont kill anyone. If vaccine producing countries hoard vaccines and focus on vaccinating their entire populations first then it will take a very long time for the world to get back to normal.

This is literally the planned roll out, but Ok.

Not for us. Our stupid government signed contracts way too late and they are saying we won't have a majority vaccinated until September next year. Trudeau allowed all the vaccine production to move to China. Yay we get to depend on China.

Majority vaccinated by September is going to be pretty consistent around the world, so that's hardly something to get up in arms about. There's limited Canadian manufacturing of the mRNA vaccines and manufacturing plants in the US or Europe aren't going to send their first doses to Canadians. The problem is that countries are going to get a head start on Canada and their economies will get going while Canadians are stuck waiting for that first round of vaccines. Canada catching up to everyone by September is much less important than Canada starting a month or two behind.

Calling this a Trudeau created problem is retarded, though. Canada has lacked sufficient pharmaceutical manufacturing for decades and Trudeau has put over $300-million into beefing that up throughout the pandemic. You don't get credit for acknowledging and trying to fix a problem after that problem forces your hand, but Trudeau didn't allow vaccine production to go anywhere as it was never there while he has been in office.

Canada isn't dependant on China for a vaccine, either. They certainly tried to by having a Chinese company, CanSino, produce a Canadian developed vaccine, but the Chinese government prevented that from happening. The deals Canada has now are with companies that are producing the vaccine outside of China.
