Oh it was a nice bonus.. but I'm partial to hub world + courses. I'd like to think that the next mainline Mario will have a theme we've never seen before, and along with it new ideas never done before. It will probably be an open world type game like you're suggesting.. which will be great for a lot of people, but I basically want a more twitch-like Mario action platformer with courses and goals, but with a twist on the minute to minute gameplay. Its pretty amazing when you think about the last 15 years worth of 3D Mario platformers. The one that would be considered LOWEST in quality would be 3D Mario World.
