I will say that this proposed law is no different than most stand your ground laws that Republicans have enacted and that gives a citizen the right to kill another person based on how threatened they feel. Which I think is worse but I'm woke.

Being FORCED to learn the trade too, that most slaves would associate that skill/trade with slavery so why would they WANT to participate in it, even or especially, after slavery? I don't think it's been documented at all that Black descendants of slaves in the US inherited any skill passed down from their ancestors that gave them an advantage in job markets.

 

Edit: I should also point out, it was "learn the skill/trade or be whipped to death" for most if not all slaves... if forced learning of a trade is so beneficial, YOU do it then, to your own kids...

 

This is however, unfortunately nothing new. For years, many White people have been saying (even those who meant no harm by it) that Black people were naturally better at sports because the hard labor they were bred for during slavery.

 

And I don't know why this anti-woke movement is perpetuated as being only against some Trans agenda, when there's been a lot going on against African American History and even Affirmative action... they make it on the news but quickly die off and swept under the rug so the movement does not get labeled as racist...

The trans issue is just a Trojan horse to attack any group other than straight white evangelicals and gun nuts. Trans gets more play because conservatives feel justified being openly bigoted against them. The right is currently running on antitrans, antiblack, antigay, and antiwomen rocket fuel. 

 

The same people are also taking on blacks and women. There's a vlog I have to check out about how the right have been warming up Muslim ideology because Islamic nations are very harsh towards the lgbtq community.
