Im only finding out about this now, and the article is from yesterday.

This is right on the first page

But whatever, I'm not actually ribbing you about doing it...  It was a harmless snarky comment 😗

Pointing out that fact has you butthurt huh? :umad:

Nope, I really don't care.  I think I'm pretty good at posting a wide variety of stuff, and I typically don't post shit that's already on the front page.  If I do post something already known... it's usually asking a specific question, or thoughts about a specific aspect of it... which is ultimately REALLY what the topic would be about.

Remember when the Xbox One X came out, and lemmings were telling us that developers were going to be making better versions of multiplats on it, compared to the PS4pro

And about a year later, after it launched, we started seeing developers really not bother at all to even optimize their games beyond PS4pro performance.

And then, by the end we saw that the developers were doing almost no optimizing for X1X at all, and we were actually having Digital Foundry comparisons in which the PS4pro was coming out on top?

:drake:And they think it won't happen again.

Why is Lemij so hurt?

Man this way of asserting an issue, of attacking someone's  mood is akin of a feminist.

It is like when you put a woman in her place and she tells you "who hurt you?"

But regarding this topic, I agree that Series S should have never come out.

However, we are going to see the same issue with cows next year when they release the PS5Pro.

Except it is going to happen the other way around.

Games are going to be built with PS5 base in mind, and little to no features being used on PS5Pro.

The moral of the story is, its never a good idea to make mid gen refreshes.

You can do midgen slim versions, but refreshes, nope.

I can only imagine how he's gonna feel about this:

Digital foundry admits teraflops don't matter anymore after 3 years of this being pushed by them
This is fitting with the new pro consoles rumors coming don't rely on Teraflops

I'm not going to feel anything about that... Teraflops haven't been an accurate representation in the PC space since forever ago... like as if Nvidia and AMD TFs were ever comparable.. :drake:

Xbox has more compute capability... that much is 100% fact.  Not all games will be compute bound, however...

Compute capability...........which is measured in teraflops

:tom:he tried to boast about the very thing that he was downplaying just two sentences beforehand

he just thought he could hide it, by phrasing it differently. LOL

Durrr.. no shit it's measured in TFs..  Xbox has more compute capability, thus the higher number.  Where am I downplaying it?  I said it's not accurate to compare between different generations or different architectures.  That doesn't mean it's not important... it just doesn't tell the whole story... not all games will be compute bound.

No that's not a "higher number"

Because compute units is not a performance metric.

That's like you saying "my car is faster than yours"

And I respond "oh really, how so"

And you say "well, my engine has 8 cylinders"

That doesn't mean shit. That isn't a performance metric.

You, after already being told that teraflops isn't really indicative of real-world performance...........tried to throw out a statistic that MEANS NOTHING EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT ITS USED TO DETERMINE WHAT, EXACTLY:bena:???????????? Teraflops.:drake:

And you thought you could slip that one by.:kaz:
