I wouldn't care if it was, it's just so obvious that it won't. The proof is the Steam Deck itself. Nintendo would never release a handheld with Deck's compromises to grown adults. A Nintendo handheld needs to be kid-proof, much lighter/smaller, no buzzing fans, at least 3 or 4 hours battery, and cheap.

Even with mobile/ARM efficiencies, an extra year of process node advancement and DLSS, Nintendo cannot produce hardware matching Deck performance while also meeting their specific goals.

There's also deep denial about how far behind Switch 1 was. Look at Apex Legends on that thing compared to PS4 and tell me there isn't huge room for improvement between them.

We are also talking about mobile tech from 2017 vs 2023. It has improved substantially.

We're actually talking about technology from 2015. Of course "tech" has improved. But Nintendo doesn't care about the cutting edge. They care about their own business requirements.

Nintendo is not going to release a console in 2024 that is weaker than a PS4. It's just not happening.

Let's say they do. Do you think Nintendo has going to make games at the level of AAA production as Ghost of Tsushima? Of course they can't do this. So why bundle in a bunch of finicky hardware that they have no plans to use? This company is currently touting a 2D Mario as their big Christmas game. Wonder could just as easily run on a GameCube.

How about Prime 4 as a launch game? And having comparable capabilities will encourage more 3rd party support.

Again. There is no point in releasing a successor if it's just going to be slightly more powerful. Do you not think Nintendo wants their big AAA games to run at 60fps? They would definitely make TOTK a 60fps 1080p/1440p game if their hardware could do it. Why make another console with the same abilities as the previous one? Most rumors suggest it's going to be the same concept with more power.

If Prime 4 matched Killzone 2, you'd have to call it a win. Of course it's not gonna come close to the best PS4 shooters like Titanfall 2 or Destiny 2. Not because the hardware is impossible (both run good on Deck), but because Nintendo can't produce games like this anymore.

Nintendo won't make a game like Tsushima cause they're talented and not in the business of making soulless "AAA production" games.

They'll use the power of the console for much more interesting things. Nintendo has always pushed their hardware - TOTK, Luigi's Mansion 3, Mario Odyssey are three examples of it this gen.

Hey retard you're proving my point.  SWITCH was more powerful than the previous generation at launch (PS3/360) but not as powerful as PS4.

Switch 2 will be more powerful then last gen af launch (PS4) but not as powerful as current gen PS5.

Which will put it ahead of steam deck and that's why you're shook :lupe:

I'm sure Monolith would also use the power. It's impressive what they were able to get out of wii/WiiU and switch.

The Switch 2 is supposed to be fully BC.. People will be bringing their libraries forward :umad:

That's even better, man. At least for the games. And BC never work for 100% of games. I'll still buy some Switch, because they are going to be easily found at super cheap prices.

It'd make more sense if he was hyping a Steamdeck revision. It's obvious the Switch 2 will out power that thing

Do you think Nintendo would release a handheld with 1 hour battery life on AAA* games?

*AAA meaning full priced, premium games, since the next Nintendo device won't be capable of actual AAA.

oh man, this story has definitely got a Nintendo hater, and possibly all other chinese manufactured Valve handheld owners, absolutely REK'D:tom:

Nintendo choosing to partner up with the GPU brand that was absolutely going to run away in terms of power has ended up being a magnificent move.

The Matrix demo would go to show that the Switch 2 should have almost every important graphical feature currently present on Nvidia card.

Nintendo may be the lucky party here, because they would've negotiated manufacturing costs before NVidia's stock exploded.

And, as anybody who has been following news about the failure of the PC industry..........nVidia is just straight-up not manufacturing desktop GPUs, because they already have stockpiles, and its not selling. And third-party GPUs companies are phasing out of selling them.

They have to fulfill Nintendo manufacturing components since they signed a contract. And when you have previous Fab time already booked, you either use it or lose it.

Nvidia's gaming GPU sales are up dummy.  22% revenue over the previous year, and 11% from the previous quarter. :tom:

Its just so easy to make you look stupid :drake:

Drop in SHIPMENTS retard.. as retailers cleared out older inventory..:drake:

Shipments =/= sales :lemming:

Jon Peddie, founder and president of Jon Peddie Research, attributes the decline to inflation worries and layoffs, plus lingering stock of last-generation graphics cards that retailers are still offloading. (Can’t blame anyone for snapping up an Nvidia GeForce RTX 30-series card or AMD Radeon RX 6000 series card at a decent discount instead of the much-more expensive current-gen GPUs.)
