What an absolutely meaningless stat relative to how he came up with it.     "Across console, portable, PC, cloud, non-console VR, subscription and mobile." I mean, this is just stupid... and

Are you two clowns dense? I'm not discrediting Matt.

The lynux3 post I responded to has Matt agreeing that lumping in Mobile, PC, VR, micro transactions, DLC + other platforms that never had physical to begin with is not an apt comparison.

And that a physical games vs digital games sales is a better comparison... Matt agreed with that in his response.

But as he said he can't share that info publicly because it's part of their paid data set that they provide to their clients.

Next gen Nintendo and Sony will both still have physical games.  :mario:

Yes you are.  You just did in fact.  You said "lumping in Mobile, PC, VR, micro transactions, DLC + other platforms that never had physical to begin with is not an apt comparison."

You're either saying he was so stupid to lump those other spending metrics in and state what he did..... or that he's purposefully threw in those other metrics to skew the results to make it sound like Physical is worse than it really is.  You quoted Lynux making fun of how he was skewing the numbers with these stupid metrics.  So I already know which side you chose.  Regardless, both of those discredit him and call to question whether he's intelligent enough to understand the data he's presenting.  When of course the reality is that he gave all the context needed within the chart.. but all the Nintendo and Playstation fanboys, and let's be clear.. it's specifically these two groups who are butthurt about what he posted.. couldn't STAND seeing a chart which suggested physical's piece of the pie is continuing to shrink.

Meanwhile, people who are reasonable, understood exactly why he made the comparison the way he did right from the beginning, and know that works for company who sells the real information to their clients and that he's not going to just give it away freely on the net.

Just own it Gouks :umad:

For what you guys are trying to spin it into it's not an apt comparison.  (the publicly available data)

Lol I have to check this out but that number sounds like bullshit. Well not bullshit, but there's no way it's an apples to apples comparison. When you buy a physical game, thats all of the money spent on it. Hell, pre-owned games don't even get counted.

If you buy a physical or digital game then pay for the DLC, buy skins, pay a subscription, etc it's another story.

I also don't get hatred of physical games. It's beyond dumb. Digital games are fine and have their strengths but a fully digital console turns the player into a gaming bitch.

You no longer own your games, and while the promise of sales and discounts and budget gaming are nice, they then decide what you pay for everything all of the time, not the market.

So instead of picking up a game on sale/discount at a store or ebay or whatever you can only get your games directly from Sony/MS/Nintendo when they decide, if they decide, and for how much they decide. Hell digital games literally cost the same as a physical game that has to account for printing materials, mastering, casing, manufacturing, and shipping.

Most people dont care if they own a disc. Its old. Adults dont want clutter and kids are already in the digital age. Only weirdo game collectors care.

Steam has sales all the time. MS/Sony would have to compete. If they didnt people wont buy games.

So much fear about digital only. Its not real.

You are trying to spin dlc, micro transactions, mobile, VR etc to be the same comparison as digital games vs Physical games.  Matt already cleared that up for your dumbass.. No need for you to keep up the retardation :umad:

Of course you will pretend you didn't see the OP implying that Physical is dead, and of course you will pretend you didn't see the response that Physical is dead.  Which again wasn't what Matt's post was about.

If your dumbass didn't agree with them, why are you responding to my initial post that I made responding to what the OP implied about Physical being dead?

And the you tried to spin what I said into something else by claiming I'm trying to discredit Matt. When Matt himself already cleared it up IN THE FIRST POST I made.

Huh, no. If you actually stepped foot in a games store you'd realize plenty of people still prefer physical games from just about any type of games consumers and they are definitely not collectors.

Being able to resell your games is actually kind of a big deal. There are a lot of people picking up the latest AAA game, beating it in a week or two then trading it back for the next-one or towards a pre-order. There are still midnight launches to this day for important releases. BOTW2 had one for example.

Mat didn't clear up anything for me dipshit... he cleared it up for YOU.. and the other butthurt people who were trying to discredit him for not making the comparison you wanted him to make :rofls:

I called out what you did EXACTLY.  You got butthurt claiming that he was either stupid for making the comparison he did, or that he was purposefully skewing information to make it seem like Physical is doing worse than it is.  Just own it Gouk :umad:

Oh? And which stores you talking about?  Every physical section around here is a shadow of it's former self.  90% shitty merchandise 10% games.

It's only a matter of time until these stores all cave dude.  You think these trade ins are great... but the stores that do them are literally dying.

There's absolutely no stores around here which do midnight launches anymore.  I'm not saying there aren't some which don't do them.. but it's so few and far between now.  Not even GTA6 will have a midnight launch around here.

The OP mistreated what Matt said by implying physical is dead.  LYNUX3 posted and basically shut that down.

I responded to that. You rush in defending the OP. Don't run from that misrepresentation now :umad:

Nope.. not going to work.  You said I stated something I didn't.  So you're wrong there.  And regardless of whether one does or does not agree with "physical is dead"... it doesn't change the fact that it wasn't me.. or even us, saying that the data Mat posted wasn't a good comparison.  That was literally you guys.. and you did that because you were butthurt because you thought that Mat was either stupid.... or that he was purposefully skewing the data.

LOL you're boxed in dude.  You did it to yourself.  Next time don't let your butthurt cloud your ability to reason.  :umad:

Stop playing stupid.  My post clearly stated it wasn't a good comparison for what the OP was claiming. Matt already cleared that up.

Now you're just arguing to argue.   Go argue with Matt since he already cleared that up dip shit. :drake:

He didn't "clear anything up"... because he was never making that comparison to begin with.  YOU idiot butthurt fuckheads made it about that.

And you can just imagine the amount of tweets and hate he got from people like you trying to discredit him because he didn't make that exact comparison... to where he said "oh yea that's a good comparison... but that costs money" :drake:

Also , lmao at stepping into a game store. No thanks.

Even if only 10% of gamers bought physical that's still million of consumers. There's nothing wrong about my statement.

Yeah, going into a store to buy something. What an insane concept.
