There aren't many people on this forum left in general.... There's like 6-7 active posters and a couple who pop in every now and then... And a good amount of reason for that is that there's a few idiots that make posting here almost unbearable. Many have moved on to discord... and others simply have lives... wives, and children and don't game much anymore. -
Nah. Seems like people are thinking it's too similar to their other games and and the narrow FOV makes some people sick. Fair enough I guess... but then again, if you love Arkane's style... you're going to love this. On PC it's also getting dragged down by the issue it had with the mouse camera movement. Rightfully so... it should have never launched like that and they fixed it almost immediately afterward with a hotfix beta patch... but still by then the first impression has been made and people flood all these user reviews with negative impressions. Got the second lord down. He was more of a bitch than the first one, predictably.. I'm just finishing up some surrounding missions in Cysloden. Took on that beast in the cage.. that was a decently tough fight. Died the first time but changed up some of my arts and took it out second try. Game is still awesome.. but there are a couple little things here and there. But I'm gonna hold off talking about them until I'm done the game. -
I bought it. Played up to the 2nd level, or I guess maybe just the first level after the tutorial? I dunno, about an hours worth anyway. I dig it so far. But I stopped, because I have Tales to play first

I'm way behind you now. I didn't get to play much at all this week like I wanted to. But we're just taking a bit of a break right now from playing for a couple hours tonight. I love the aesthetic of Cyslodia! So beautiful. I just love the color tones and the snow and particles looks beautiful. -

Like I say though, it's mostly the constantly updating of the BVH structure which kills the CPU that's likely causing them grief at this point. Forget even about the fact that reflections are some of the more simple calculations.. it's the traversal of the BVH which isn't accelerated on RDNA2 GPUs as it is on Nvidia's RT cores. The RDNA2 RT hardware accelerates ray/triangle intersect calculations, but uses the shader cores to do BVH traversal. What that offers is added flexibility over Nvidia's solution because it's more programmable... but it's also a lot slower than Nvidia's fixed functio -

Ok So basically to understand what is happening in the most basic form For ray tracing, the GPU calls a shader to dispatch a ray, calculates if it hits any geometry, and depending on if it does or not, will return a result and shade a pixel. It may also possibly pass through, or stop, as well as potentially spawn secondary bounce rays for lighting, or reflections in reflections. I dunno, but the PC version is sitting at estimated 200,000 - 500,000 according to Steamspy right now. There was 60,000 concurrent players a few days ago, so that likely puts it on the higher end of that estimation. I'd say maybe 350K on Steam, 550K on PS4/5, and 100K on Xbox. Something like that. -

Damn, that's almost unbelievable I also went through 2 PS2s as well with DRE errors. Outside of the PS2 and 360 though, every other system I've ever bought never gave me issues.
