I thought if they were going to delay it, they would possibly just delay the SP part of the game and keep the MP part for Series X launch.. which would at least satisfy a large portion of Halo's players out there. But that's not the case.. so yea, this is massive. Basically they are going to have to launch at a stupid cheap price point now to move units. Halo should have looked amazing and it should have been absolutely MASSIVE for Series X... but jesus, they fucked it up. Halo is now delayed, and we still haven't seen any games confirmed running on Serie

Yep. PC games have to transfer data into RAM before it can be transferred to VRAM (at least for the moment anyway ) so it helps to have a larger pool of RAM. Not to mention for smoother multitasking. Being able to tab between games and have lots of other probrams and shit running.

Yea, it's fucked. I can't defend it. It's a huge blow to the Series X launch. Honestly, to me Halo didn't look that bad visually. Like I had mentioned there were obvious issues which contributed to it looking worse than it should have... like the foliage stuff and some of the pop in stuff. But that's stuff that can be fixed relatively easily. And believe it or not, much like Alex from DF said, RT lighting and shadows would go a long way to showing a lot of the details that are there, even in those shadowy areas. 16GB is definitely the minimum you're going to want for next gen games. 32GB being recommended.

Without Halo, Sony is really going to mop up this holiday. They blew the biggest chance they got at somewhat leveling the launch window. I respect the fuck out of them for delaying it though. I never thought it was going to happen because too much was riding on it.

Trust me... it wont be. RT is the real deal. DLSS is the key that makes RT even more viable now... which is why Nvidia's soo intent on having DLSS and those tensor cores.

I'd really like to think that AMD having competitive high end GPUs ready to launch close to the same time as well as cheaper consoles which are also powerful would reign them in a bit... but Nvidia be posting a 21 day countdown going through the history of PC make me think they have some confidence. I'll say around $999-$1200 for the 3090 3080 will be like $799

Man, I'm kinda really disappointed in their controller this time around. I was hoping for more changes or innovation. Even a bit different form factor. It's gonna be a great controller no doubt, but this time around the DualSense is WAYYYYY more interesting and exciting.
