I like mine. What would you suggest. Hori is the only Switch joy con controller they have here.

Don't have a Switch so I don't know. Doing some research online would be my recommendation, there has to be other alternatives.

My experience with Hori controllers is primarily with their Fightpads though. Their Fightpads fuckin' suck so it's just soured my opinion of the Hori brand in general.

  2. Hori joysticks are good, Hori controllers are trash.

I've bought controllers from them before and had problems with each of them after a couple months of use. Problems ranging from either the DPad busting (pretty common, happened to 2 of the 3 Hori controllers I've bought), buttons sticking, the springs in the triggers being ass so the triggers were slow to return to normal after being pressed...They're just terrible controllers that are not built for daily use because they break down so easily.

Do not recommend. Get something else.

Spider-Man sold 33M off two consoles and PC...

I think you guys are forgetting just how ridiculous Nintendo games sell on Switch now.

But I will grant you that Sony fans are more desperate for an exclusive game right now than Nintendo fans are.

Mario will take it.  It will be close however.

No one is denying Nintendo games have long legs. But we're talking OCTOBER sales, not lifetime.

Both games release on Oct. 20th.

Spiderman 2 has 2 years worth of the massive hype train behind it, a hype train thats about to go into overdrive.

Mario Wonder is another spinoff Mario game that was barely announced 3 months ago...

In a comparison of sales for an 11 day period, Spiderman 2 is going to stomp the living shit out of Mario Wonder.

I won't even be surprised if Spiderman 2 hits 3 million before the end of October. Mario Wonder? I doubt it will even hit half that before the end of October.

FF7 Rebirth looks fun. Especially since it's some of my favorite moments in the game, I always enjoyed the parade and Golden Saucer events.

But it's also what I used to joke that they would do, this is basically the end of disc 1 and early disc 2. :pavarotti:

I expect SE at some point to just change things so they can shorten the story. Like completely omit certain parts of the story and will replace it with modern Japanese garbage.

Hard to tell with all the retcons going on. This game is ending at The Forgotten City, they've already confirmed that. Thing is though, there are two points where the party goes to The Forgotten City.

First time is the end of Disc 1 where Aerith dies and the second time is when you return here to give Bugenhagen the Key of the Ancients which is near the end of Disc 2.

Considering the footage they've shown... it's a mess of events compared to the original that don't make sense.

-They showed WEAPONs being active but that doesn't happen until AFTER Cloud gives Sephiroth the Black Materia which is the middle of Disc 2.

Why they hell would they be active BEFORE this event? It makes no sense because WEAPONs are literally a defense mechanism of the planet and they only go active BECAUSE Sephiroth has the Black Materia and has casted Meteor.

-They've shown the party being evacuated from a fucked up Midgar but the party returns to Midgar at the end of Disc 2. They only go to Midgar to prevent Diamond WEAPON from destroying it and to prevent Hojo from feeding the Northern Crater more mako energy.

-Then they show another battle with Sephiroth with Meteor clearly visible in the sky so Sephiroth has apparently used the Black Materia... which doesn't happen until the middle of Disc 2. Special note, Aerith is also present in that battle so...

Guess we can rule out the first visit to The Forgotten City since you know, Aerith is suppose to die on the first visit OR these morons just inadvertently spoiled that Aerith is going live.

  5. LOL Yup, gotta make all the fuckin nonsense from the garbage that is Before Crisis, Crisis Core, Advent Children, and Dirge of Cerberus relevant and incorporate as much of it as possible.

Just cram it all in there, this shit sandwich doesn't have enough shit.

I legit laughed at the pretty faithful remakes of the Gold Saucer minigames though. Honestly didn't expect them to do that.

  6. I remember I was getting ready for work and then getting a phone call from my boss saying "No work today. Stay home".

And I was like, "Why? What's up?"

She responded with, "You don't know? Check your TV".

So I head out into the living room and see my whole family just staring at the TV screen in silence and I turn to look at the screen and just freeze in place. I'm just standing there for who knows how long just in complete disbelief and I remember the first words I do manage to say is "No way is this real" in a low tone.

I finally sit down to watch and it seriously took me like an hour to really process everything and come to the realization that yes, this is REALLY happening.

To this day it remains one of the most complex feelings I've ever felt. I still don't know to explain the feeling and it took like 2 weeks to shake the feeling off before I felt "normal" again.

  7. I actually got around to playing the demo and have some mixed feelings. The world seems a lot more interesting than I originally thought but I also thought the combat was kind of whack. So it's basically hinging on if the level design is any good in the final game, the level design in the demo didn't leave much of an impression on me but if it gets better in the final game then I might give the game a chance.

But there is no excuse when TWO people (Signalis) come up with interesting shit even if it's cryptic - and told in tiny bits - I'd rather have that than a minute long meaningless convo. Or like that hyper light drifter dialogue, with metaphors etc.

I did catch that. But you also turned around and said this which implies you were really pushing the argument to make the comparison. It's two completely different genres where the comparison doesn't make sense because they have different standards and expectations.

Let me put it this way:

What's the first thing people ask when it comes to a JRPG?

"Is the story good?" is usually the first question.

What's the first thing people ask when it comes to Horror?

"Is it scary?" is usually the first question.

So to make this short and to the point- Story is far more important in a JRPG than it is in a Horror game therefore its far more important to hire an actual writer for a JRPG than it is for a Horror game.

You can get away with not hiring an actual writer for certain genres but you can't really get away with it for a JRPG if you want your story to be well recieved because the story is what most people are actually playing for. Basically, if you are making a JRPG- hire a fuckin' writer. It matters for this genre.

  9. Haven't played Signalis but I do know Horror is generally considered to be the easiest genre to work with, especially for a small team. There's a reason Horror is known as the "Breakout" genre for pretty much all forms of media. It's low budget and the writing gets heavy assistance from other factors involved.

So comparing Signalis to Sea of Stars is just a dumb comparison... Two completely different genres with completely different standards.

  10. Thoughts?

I saw it for pretty cheap (40 bucks) and was thinking about grabbing it. I played the first one and thought it was alright but I do remember certain aspects of the game being a bit of a letdown.

The procedural nature of the game made it a pain in the ass if you're trying to accomplish a specific thing. I also didn't think the procedural generation really changed things much. It all felt pretty minimal for the most part.

I also remember the Classes to be kind of bland and uninteresting. This bleeds into the gearing and character builds as well so builds would end up kind of boring because there really wasn't any interesting stuff to build a character around.

Just wondering if the sequel made significant improvements in these areas.
