You're being stupid. Yes Gen's have deviated. PS2 was still selling gang busters the year PS3 launched. 360 still Sold great the year Xbox1 launched. PS3 also sold great the year PS4 launched. The transition is not always cut and dry or cold turkey. This gen will be even more different because of the mid gen refresh consoles. There is no historical empirical data for mid gen refresh consoles because it never happened before on this scale. And today, they were selling limited quantities of the Nintendo Switch for $180. They were also selling Let's Go Pikachu for $35, Mario Party for $35, and DKC TF for $30 and the Switch Pro Controller for $40. Tomorrow, they are going to be selling the Spiderman game for $30. It's literally PlayStation 2 all over again, but likely not going to reach 150m+ units, but this time next year or earlier it'll surpass PlayStation 1. Best thing about it is that Sony still has a couple years of software ready to hit PS4/PS4 Pro with The Last of Us II, Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding, Days Gone, etc. All of these except Days Gone are system sellers.
