You just trade with people for the exclusive Pokemon. Buying two copies of the game wouldn't even get you all the Pokemon until 3DS (and won't in Let's Go) because there was no way to trade between games with only one GB/DS. 3DS added cloud storage to move Pokemon from previous games into the new ones, which opened the door for you to be able to just buy both versions and trade with yourself. Even then the newest games didn't get added to the cloud storage until a couple months after release, so you still needed to trade with other people to get all the Pokemon for a bit. It's still a lame system and all, but it's an incentive to trade with other people rather than have people buying both versions of the game. With the mainline entries, the exclusive Pokemon are new Pokemon that you haven't been able to get before. In Let's Go, it's just the original 151 and you can pull all of them in from Pokemon Go and that's been available for years. Not even like they're rare in Pokemon Go either, they're just early game Pokemon aside from Scyther/Pinser. So the hypothetical superfan that's buying both versions of the game needs a second Switch, the complete inability or lack of desire to go online and trade Pokemon, and has never played or has no desire to ever play Pokemon Go. McWicked 825 Posted February 27, 2019 Share Posted February 27, 2019 I thought it looked great. What I really liked was the swift transition between random encounter to battle screen. Hopefully that stays in the game, because making these smaller fights flow quickly and cleanly is a big deal to me. Some of the DS and 3DS games really slowed down battles, which sucks when you've got hundreds of pokemon who need to win hundreds of battles to level up. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
