Ike★ 2,922
For some reason, when I was in quarantine I felt like eating a shit ton of carbs. Like I ate a whole side of Pizza Hut's cinnabun sides. Anyone else feel like that?

Anyone else feel like that? probably because sugar boosts serotonin. when you get that feeling, do 3 sets of body weight squats to max. it will release all the "feel good" chemicals, and it will actually suppress your hunger.

Yeah, it was weird. I didn't have much appetite. When I did though, it was nothing but carbs. Thanks for the easy fix.
kaz 2,445
maybe that's why you survived the flu. you were probably within the 14 days incubation time with corona and carbs were the cure.

I notice the next day after I do weights, I eat like a pig. Probably the body needs more calories/protein/etc to recuperate.

Casual 744
Been getting back into poker quite a bit. My jobs slow right now but I do generally have to be at my computer most hours from 9-5 so it works out pretty well. Splitting that time pretty equally between studying and playing, I've always wanted to get my poker abilities to the point where it could provide a reliable and noteworthy supplemental income. I've been too off and on with it in the past to reach that point though, my jobs not really demanding but just being at an office 9-5 sucks so much mental energy out of me that most nights I don't have the motivation. Also works since I thought I'd be playing a lot more games during this time but just really haven't had the desire.

I used to feel really drained after working out but I’ve been focusing on having a decent sized high protein meal beforehand and i think that helps a lot.

Real life poker is so much better. It's one of my hobbies and my dream to one day go spend a summer in Vegas and play in some WSOP events as well as the $10k main event. I'd like to hop into some of the bigger tournaments but it's just too likely to get interrupted by work calls/urgent requests. I agree 100% about the live poker but unfortunately don't have any games around here to go to (especially not now). I had a really solid house game I used to go to almost every weekend but most of the regulars just got to the point where they couldn't make it consistently so now we're lucky to get a game every other month. I also moved so it's a bit of a drive when it does happen. The closest casino only has limit games which I don't know enough about and just don't interest me. Niagara is about 90 minutes so sometimes I'll go down there to play, two casinos there with 1/2 and 2/5 games that are usually solid, especially on weekends since we get a lot of younger americans who come up so that they can drink at 19. The advantage of online though is that I see a lot more hands since I can play multiple tables and the tables generally move faster. Definitely helps get the experience. WSOP would be amazing. I'm in the same boat, hopefully one day, even just to play in some satelites for the chance at the main event would be amazing, plus I'm sure there's tons of good cash games going on at the same time. First time I went to Vegas I was running great and basically paid for my trip playing 2/5 at Planet Hollywood. Last time I went with my girlfriend so didn't get much chances to play, but I got absolutely destroyed at the Venetian when I did lol. You get many live games in where you are?

Yeah, I play in this fun state league. They just set up in bars and places around the area. No money buy-ins but some good players. You still win a little cash if you get top 2. A lot of older people so they’ve been playing for a while so some good competition. I actually placed 3rd at the state quarterly tournament last November. Other than that the casinos offer some good cash games but haven’t gone in a while. They have a crazy deal at one poker room where they give out $400 to the high hand in the room with no qualifier and only one card needs to play. They also have some nice Monte Carlo bonuses. Been going there for over decade.

I feel like as long as there's something at stake the money involved doesn't matter too muhc, you're still getting competition and people who are going to play seriously. $400 is a nice bonus for any high hand too. I think most of the bonuses around here are only for bad beats and it's usually some ridiculous requirement like losing quads or straight flush.

Yeah, it's perfect to just get good and practice your skills. If you win the annual tournament, I think they pay for you to go to the WSOP and pay your entry for a smaller bracelet event. I should also say the $400 is every 20 minutes from 12pm-12am like 3 days a week. They also have jackpots for hands 4 of a kind or better. Those jackpots aren't in play though when the high hand is going on.
