The first 2 games are absolute gems.  The second is better than the first, but both are awesome.

 

There's some 3d ones which vary in quality, but are still good.

I agree. People who loved the PS1 Suikoden games would know what you mean. The PS2 sequels never come close to capturing the style.

Yea they were different and didn't have the same quality to them.

The 3rd one was probably the best one. The other ones after that were pretty much trash though

Goddamn, it looks amazing. Its like Suikoden 1 and 2 but with way better looking background and great looking sprites.
