Nah I didn't have time to play 30 hours in now and those robot miniboss in that cave are RAPING me Holy shit the enemies are so fucking hard would it be stupid to fight those big ass 50 ft tall elephants

I never buff unless it's during a boss fight. I just go stagger enemies and quickly rape them.

My weapons and accessories are upgraded as hell, i sell worthless shit and buy tons of egnimatic fluid, it only cost 80 a piece. Lmao, it's enough to fully upgrade most of the basic equipments i have so far.

Once you get to Gran Pulse, the difficulty spikes a bit, and I added Sahz to my party and set his default class to Synergist so he'd immediately caste Haste on everyone. Before then it's pretty pointless to cast buffs and duffs during grunt fights except when you're fighting with only Sahz and Vanille, and Sahz can't use the Commando class, cuz duffs slow the enemy's stagger meter.

How far i am from reaching pulse? Fang just joined my party for the first time.

And Gran Pulse doesn't suddenly turn the game into a fleshed out RPG. It's just a big open field with statues that give out subquests that consist of going to an X on the map and killing the enemy there. And it doesn't remain open world from then on either. You hit Gran Pulse in Chapter 11 but during the last part of the chapter it becomes a corridor brawler again and stays that way for the rest of the game except there're warp gates in the last chapter in case you wanna go do more sidequests or grind for some reason.

It's an easy game to hate and I completely understand why a lot of people do.

I'm playing the Saboteur. Somehow Pandemic was able to make GTA: Vichy France boring. The writing's cartoon-caliber and it robs the Nazis of their menace in the process cuz they're portrayed as a bunch of mustache twirlers. They did add in naughty words and tits to make the 15-year-olds feel more mature. The gunplay is squirrelly with lots of clumsy animations. The climbing and driving are slow and un-fluid. It uses shitty stealth with cones of detection and all that garbage. The cover system is automatic instead of using a dedicated button so it's squirrelly too. The missions are all the usual generic sandbox missions. It starts out on rails with a lengthy series of mandatory missions that are designed to establish the plot instead of actually be any fun. The graphics are pretty crude. Some of the character models look like cartoonish, others look realistic, and there's no rhyme or reason to it. The period music strikes a repetitive one-note mood that never has any energy. On the up side, they put a lot of detail in Paris, and it has a good vibe. I out clevered myself with this experiment and got burned for it.

I don't think it's outright bad, just mediocre. The main problem for is that nothing is driving me to keep playing. The combat isn't good, there's nothing unexpected to explore, the weapons and abiliites are all standard issue, and I don't care about the characters or the plot. If I were grading it, I'd give it a straight C.

I'm bored with the quests now so I moved on to chapter 12 and its back to the one straight line again
