  1. Some idiot probably heard that PS5 dev kits had 8GB HBM2 and 16GB DDR4 RAM... which is exactly like what an early PC dev kit with Vega 56 would have (System memory doubled obviously. The actual console... I'm doubtful. Who knows though.. maybe they've cobbled together some shit that does well enough... but imo, this is where MS reverses the scenario from this gen back on Sony, if that indeed is what they go for. Hopefully both prove competent enough.
  2. Basically I think this rumor is complete bullshit. Like a poster on ResetERA said... you really think they're going to allow themselves to be reliant on bad HBM2 memory chips rejected from other companies to meet their production requirements?
  3. This is what I think. If they do this... this will be their Xbox level fuck up.. assuming MS goes for broke and has more RAM which is faster. It will be the exact opposite of what happened this past gen. Sony was going to skimp with the PS4 memory too... they have a history of not being smart with memory. Memory is extremely important, and you don't want to fuck it up now. 2019 wasn't the original plan dude... it was NEVER on the cards. That was bullshit fed to you to keep people talking about Playstation since people expected Sony to launch first. These insiders are fumbling
  4. Matt said PS5 was 2019 and you rode his dick into oblivion.. fuck that guy I'm not saying it's impossible or anything, but I'm saying it sounds messy.
  5. Yea, we saw how that worked for MS this gen And no... it's not weird they didn't mention memory... since that's a key component to the makeup of the system.. you can glean a lot of information just from the amount of memory and what type... so no.. not weird at all.
  6. I'm bookmarking this 24GB ram total 8GB HBM2 16GB *DDR4* 4GB reserved for OS Sounds like a mess.
  7. Exactly... so why the fuck are you guys saying I'm wrong that enabling game mode will reduce performance in 3dmark? lmao..
  8. I think I understand exactly. 3dmarks physics test scales with cores dumbass. It will almost certainly lower his physics score... @The Mother Fucker Now enable all the cores, and run using only game mode and post the results. I want to shut this dumb bitch up
  9. Gouko has to own up to this one.
  10. Game mode will almost certainly make things perform worse in 3dmark. It's meant to scale with cores.
  11. We're 7 weeks away. Anyway, at computex we'll find out what AMD's Navi architecture is capable of in the PC space, and it's reasonable to expect some little alterations and advancements specific to the consoles. The questions will begin to be answered soon enough. I'm honestly just really excited about the whole SSD super high bandwidth bus they've got. Whether that's PCIe4.0 or 5.0. I didn't even really think about what that could possibly mean because I honestly didn't expect such a future looking solution regarding storage. I thought they'd go with a SATA 2.5 SSD
  12. I'm not too sure about that. I checked his results in detailed view and his hardware shows 2 physical gpus with slightly different clock speeds (not overclocked terribly high), so I definitely think there's 2 physical gpus there. He's got 64GB of RAM too. Pretty beastly system. Definitely smokes mine in any applications that aren't games. Wonder what's going on there? I think it could be some driver issue, or his PSU isn't up to the task.
  13. He's presumably OC'd his cards like everyone else... an OC'd Vega 56 isn't doing 16k.. I'm pretty much guaranteeing that only a single card is being utilized. It could be a driver issue (try reinstalling fresh drivers, or try the previous drivers) or his PSU might not have the juice for all that?
  14. I just think Crossfire isn't working. His score is 20,000... yours for the 64 is 24,500... that seems about right for a single card. So I think the 2nd card just isn't being utilized. @The Mother Fucker use MSI Afterburner or whatever and see if your 2nd card is being utilized at all. Regardless, there's definitely something wrong. But as I said Dynamite, there's no instances of Crossfire working at all on 3dmarks results with the 2990WX. Must be the CPU.
  15. There's Vega 56 2x crossfire gfx scores over 40,000 with Intel CPUs..
  16. God I wish games still came in long boxes and had great packaging. I'd actually still care about physical
  17. Here's mine. Would be a lot better overall if I had a better CPU.
  18. Crossfire ain't working breh.. you should be killing that score. Actually, looking at results on 3dmark, I see all the Threadripper 2990WX scores are garbage and Crossfire doesn't seem to work..
  19. The irony of you editing your post to say this.
  20. No.. that in no way means anything is guaranteed. Machine learning has many applications within game development. Asset creation, game AI training, code efficiency, and compression to name a few.. there's many others though. It's going to have a huge affect on game development in the future. Reducing budgets and dev time, as well as distribution costs. Those are the implications of what ML can do for game development. That has no bearing to say whether or not the console will have dedicated hardware to accelerate ML code... Of course, it's entirely possible, and there's a good chance th
  21. Really? Have you seen how butthurt BC gets at every PC announcement?
