This post is so dumb I don't even know why I'm replying to it. 'XL' isn't a measurement to a specific size, it's a measurement to the Base model. The Switch could be fucking 55" and it would still be a Switch XL indicates a model with a larger screen than the base and a Lite indicates a smaller model. It ain't rocket science.

A Switch XL is a near certainty at some point. A Switch Lite would be interesting but weird imo because the joycons would really feel and look massive on a smaller screen and they can't change their design/size.

Yeah cause Nintendo accessory costs are truly insane. Plus I don't think they want to drop the Switch price atm, still selling extremely well and profitability is far more important that simply having a lower price point. They will try to keep the same profit margins by reducing costs with a handheld only switch imo. We'll see I guess.

I 100% think it is more likely they make a handheld only Switch than a console only one. Their handheld market has always been much bigger than their console one and with Pokemon coming out (which has only ever been a handheld game) a handheld only Switch makes a lot of sense.

I would see myself a hardcore gamer and even for me it's such a pain to setup and use in it's current iteration that I simply don't use it for that reason alone even though I'm dying to play all it's killer games this year. The amount of wires, the space required, the addition of needing the camera, using past gen tech in Move controllers, the launch units not having HDR pass through the set up box, the still low res screen, etc. We are so fucking early.

VR isnt dead and VR most definitely isn't going to be included in the console. We are still so early in the lifespan for this tech. We're still at the weak af home computers with floppy disks stage of VR.

It depends what MS considers as a success to. I know that from me as a customer I went from buying an Xbox and all major exclusives, to buying a X360 and all major exclusives plus all major 3rd party games on it, to Xbox One and buying their exclusives till their PC and gamepass announcement, to (as it stands) most definitely not buying the next xbox or any games and just paying $10 a month for GP on PC for their first party in the month they release. I'll be honest, I didn't own a Wii U but the Wii U ports being sent to Switch have all been excellent games so far, so from a first party perspective it seems they most def did support it as much as it makes sense to support a system that flopped so badly commerically. The only ever time I felt a proper 'fuck you' from buying a system is MS announcing every first party game is now also on PC. Made the system I bought completely and utterly useless to me from that very second.

Well obviously. The only reason to buy a Switch is for Nintendo first party, that's why I bought mine so I don't really care if I don't use it much outside of that. Although excellent indie games truly have found a home on that system too. That also means that is the only factor I really associate with as successful for a Nintendo system to me. Regardless of sales the Wii to me is one of Nintendo's worst ever systems for that reason. SMG franchise the main shining light.

That's all relative to taste. I'm not that interested in but many were in Pokemon Go, Mario Aces, Kirby Star Allies, Super Mario Party. Plus there was Octopath. All games that reviewed better than most MS first party titles (outside of forza) so regardless of personal taste they aren't bad games. I'd wait to see what Nintendo announce in their usual Jan (or early year) Direct before saying they got nothing. Nintendo always focuses all it's attention of their next major games before moving forward. Smash just came out and that had 100% of their focus. We'll find out what 2019 looks
