The scale of the story is impressive and the directing/writing can be top notch.

I found the 2nd half of the series to be better than the first overall. Some of the eps are absolute bangers.

It’s still intriguing, though. Yeah the ones that focus on the Symphony are the weakest.

jehurey 3,299
I suddenly remembered a horror/thriller movie in which a couple goes out to a lake house in the middle of nowhere, with nobody close to them. THey start doing stuff in bed, and the wife gets handcuffed to the bed, and the husband suddenly kills over from a heart attack. And the wife realizes that she is stuck and will die there because nobody knows where they are. Called Gerald's Game. Its a Mike Flanagan movie (Doctor Sleep, which I greatly enjoyed). I need to see that. Edited January 23, 2022 by jehurey

-GD-X★ 7,823
Ok, I finished it. I think the ride was worth it for the stand out episodes (5 and 7 were epic), but the ending Spoiler felt too happy. I felt 0 tension, and I can’t say I was moved or surprised. It all felt like it was served neatly on a platter. 0 struggle. Overall, I recommend the limited series because it is pretty damn thought-provoking (for most of it). But the uneven shifts in tone, sometimes, felt too sudden. 7.5/
