madmaltese★ 2,588
As yous know there was that massive fuck up by the ESA that resulted in over 2000 ppl that attended E3 this year being doxxed. Well since then it was revealed that even the two previous years that lists available and the ESA has now also let ppl know that data from 2004-2006 was out there via third party websites (prob archives). There is without a doubt a giant lawsuit heading their way plus fines from governing bodies in the USA and EU. Not to mention no way any media trusts E3 next year. All this on top of the fact that E3 was already becoming less relevant and I think we just might have seen our last E3.

Remij 4,687
Yea, it seems like this could be the writing on the wall. Apparently months ago when the 2018 list leaked. The person who found the list contacted the ESA to tell them about the security flaw and they didn't bother to respond to him. So that makes it even worse for them... because they were notified about this months ago, and did absolutely nothing. Yikes. :X They deserve to go down.

Voidler 1,675
Sucks. E3 head to head was always a great part of the industry I could see events surrounding the The Game Awards replace E3
Twinblade★ 3,933
Im glad I went when I did even if it was underwhleming. So much empty space and a lot of sections were closed off and unavailable to the public. I can't imagine how much worse it was this year without Sony.

This is a massive massive fuck up and should have massive ramifications.

Everything suggests they had every opportunity to fix it and continued to not only ignore the problem but continuously collect new data. Negligence of the largest order. There is no way they survive this. Just sucks that that means E3 dies too, but tbh it probably just accelerated the inevitable

102020393023445948594 2,223
What is E3 really worth nowadays? Nintendo does their own Direct, and sony can just use their own PSX event to completely steal all of the spotlight every december or whatever. WHO HERE would actually miss MS's yearly indie reel peppered with western multiplats? Waste of time and money for everyone really.

lynux3 2,107
E3 has truly lost its identity. It used to be a battle ground and now Microsoft is trying to turn into a friendly gathering because that have nothing to compete with.
