The female characters nowadays seem to be flawless and inhuman. Take Rey for example, she beats kylo with a lightsaber in her first time using it.. The men in many of these movies are portrayed as bumbling moronic idiots and the women are flawless and know everything and must be trusted at all times. Aliens did it right. Terminator 2 did it right. I found myself caring about these characters. Yes they are strong, yes they are independent, but they also have flaws and make mistakes... you know, like a human.
