I think 2070 Supers will be at like $250 on used market soon. 2080 / 2080 Supers $300-350.   2080 Ti $400 used value at best,   with RTX 3070 being 1x faster than it, at $499.

So............they appear to be holding back the 3090 and have just announced the 3080

$699

and its basically a whole 2x more powerful than the 2080.

I'm there.  Although the RTX 3070 is a pretty impressive value proposition at $499.

Whoa, this guy has some crazy ideas about the future. But then again, he just oversaw the creation of a video card that can do 8K @ 60fps in 2020. So, he's seen some crazy shit already.

They didn't give pricing on the 3090.

But, the 3080 does 30TFLOPS shader processing, and the 3090 does 36TFLOPS.

I am wondering if the 3080 at $700 is a good-enough value proposition.

Makes me think they are concerned about what AMD has in store for their upcoming GPUs.

The 3070 was the star of the show. 1440@60fps for $500 is awesome.

Also, by the way, that youtube bearded dweeb that had upcoming rumors about these nvidia cards, he ended up getting some things right.

But the biggest thing he ended up getting right was the nVIdia IO that was going to work with PCI 4 SSD to send data super quickly to the GPU, basically like its own version of what Sony is implementing for the PS5.

Wow great prices for the 3070 and 3080.  Navi must be competitive.

Good shit.  I can't watch the presentation because I'm at work, but it sounds fucking awesome.

The 3090 will be mine :smoke:

PS. I told Jon that the 3070 would be faster than the 2080ti :face:  The 2070 and 2080 are next gen equivalents and 2070s will start selling for like $350..

So the thing is, the 3070 is almost exactly 2/3's of the power of a 3080, in everything, shader cores, TFLOPS, Ray tracing cores, tensor cores, bandwidth, even voltage.

If I could find one around $470, then the price aligns exactly with the power when compared to the $700 3080.

The problem is I want to play Cyberpunk on my 4K OLED, at over 60fps, preferably at close to 90fps. And I figured I was going to need to utilize a whole bunch of DLSS processing to take a 1080p rendering with Ray tracing effects to get it upscaled to 4K using DLSS.

It also sucks that nobody can test Cyberpunk's performance on these video cards unless CDPR and nVidia releases such performance numbers for marketing purposes.

If the RTX 3080 can't really do Cyberpunk 1080p w/Ray Tracing DLSS'd up to 4K @ 80-100 fps, like if it can't even get close to that, then I may just consider the RTX 3070.

RTX I/O :smoke:

14GB/s throughput and DirectStorage.. directly from storage to VRAM :blessed:

Holy fuck this is godly :whew:

that dork on youtube did predict this one.

however, he did say there would also be a DLSS 3.0, I don't know if we technically saw that.

These video cards have more tensor cores, but the way he explained it was that either the algorithm or the tensor core architecture was significantly improved that it could perform much better than even DLSS 2.0, in fact he said 4x better performance.

THey didn't confirm any such thing in this presentation, I believe.
