The average Russians are going to be the only ones really affected, and as history has already shown us the Russian government could care less about the quality of life of their people. Putin and the oligarchs will still be filthy rich and powerful and the war will continue. Isn't aza an average citizen? You said this like he's some oligarch or something. Lol at your condescending tone like you dropped a bomb or something. Many idiots on the right are cheering for Putin but again your focus is on looney lefties rooting against Russia. Mr. Impossible 411
So this was a high ranking Trump official saying that people should just let Russia take over the Ukraine and not offer them aide to defend themselves and they should just give up. Surprise Surprise... Hey @Twinblade here's another Fox news segment where Fox and Republicans blatantly once again show support for Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Simply disgusting 🤢 Edited February 28, 2022 by Goukosan

The long term effects will be much worse, even to the oligarchs who had all their assets frozen.

The current impact is minimal and won't do enough to have an effect on whats actively going on because Russian citizens are the only ones who will be really hurting. I doubt Oligarchs will care that much if they lose one of their yachts or a villa in another country. Those are the equivalent of pennies to them.

Twinblade★ 3,933
Seems that nobody watched this video @ 9:40 'The revenues gained from the sales of all these oil and gas exports are the literal foundation for the modern Russian state and Russian power because they provide as much as 50% of the entire Russian government's budget and represent about 30% of Russia's entire GDP. Russia has used the vast money earned from selling oil and gas abroad to fund their military, pay off debts, save cash, and finance its own restoration as a global, great power'. The one thing that can REALLY hurt Russia is the one thing that all these sanctions have barely touched. Their energy industry is their lifeblood and refusing to buy any more of their oil and gas and seeking alternatives (you know, like using the TWO HUNDRED SIXTY FOUR BILLION barrels worth of oil that is sitting under our feet in the U.S. right now) would make the invasion look like hitting rewind on a VHS tape. I said they weren't a solution for the present situation Just saw this, and its crazy that Trudeau of all people is the first one to use common sense. If more countries follow suit (specifically Germany) then Putin is screwed and even he will have to see there's no point in continuing the campaign.
