Meta announces Meta Quest Pro ($1500, October 25th, Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 5G, Pancake Lenses, 2,160 x 2,160 pixels)

This is quite telling on multiple levels.

It makes it obvious that Meta/Facebook needs money. Everything they've accomplished with pushing the Quest 2, and moneyhatting the handful of games has come at a great loss of money, and now they're not subsidizing anything anymore.

Those bodes really bad for the Quest 3.

And, rumor has it that none of the upcoming Quest and PCVR hardware has eye-tracking sensors to do eye-tracking foveated rendering. Absolutely huge mistake, if that is true.

yeah, you don't have anything to contradict what I just said.

the quest 2 accomplished very little, and now zuckerberg is ruining the brand name, and they aren't going to be subsidizing the Quest 3 in 2023.  you can literally hear the sound of the bubble deflating.

slightly-above-average smartphone processor trying to power video games that don't even look PS4-graphics quality in the year 2023, for a device that's probably going to start at $600.

they're making the PSVR2 look really good.
