The original voice actress for Bayonetta.  She declined the offer they gave her.... of just.... $4000USD flat rate one time payment for VA for the entire game....

 

Fucking absolutely pathetic that they'd do her like that after all she's done and contributed to this series.  And they went with fucking Jennifer Hale instead... JFC  

 

 

I'm with her.  Boycott this came.. and instead emulate it on PC where it will be better anyway

Yep, it's pretty pathetic.  And if you watch the other parts, that $4000 offer was only after she contacted Hideki Kamiya directly.... the original offer would have been even worse than that..

She can literally make that doing Additional Voices. She's in that class of VA like Steve Blum, Laura Bailey, Troy Baker, Nolan North, Liam O'Brien, Tara Strong...etc. 

 

These people don't need to be a feature character, they can make money off doing Additional Voices.

 

Seriously, I'm shocked Hale took the job. Maybe she just really wants to play the character? Because her talents are definitely worth more than $4k. This is Commander Shepherd for crying out loud...

It could be a case of Hale being a huge Bayo fan and agreeing to do the project, so she can leave her mark. Like how big name celebs take pay cuts to work on films they want to be a part of.

It honestly sounds like they, or someone in charge at Platinum Games didn't want to work with her again, and so they offered her an insultingly low offer just to ensure she wouldn't take it.

 

I really sincerely doubt Jennifer Hale would accept that role for $4000... unless there's an embarrassingly low amount of dialogue from her in the game.  And in that case, it could be that Hellena Taylor might have had an issue with the fact that there was too little dialogue in the game for her to bother, and is just using the money offered as an excuse to shit on PG.

 

That's a possibility too.

That's assuming Hale did the work for 4K.

 

Both Hale and Jennifer are part of the union and the MINIMUM rate is $275 us per hr of work (not dialoge) for unionized VA work on games.  A work day for VA is about 4 hrs so that's like a grand a day. 

 

All other VA on Bayonetta 3 are through the union as well.

 

If they offered that low that means they tried to not go through the union which would be really scummy of platinum/Nintendo.

I was thinking this too but didn't want to speculate until more information came out.

 

  Going by the newest trailer it seems the "orginal" Bayonetta dies pretty early in the game... So not sure if she was offered a cameo role and Hale was offered the role for all the other Bayonetta's that show up in the game as Hale has more range and can voice a multitude of characters within the same game. 

 

She also made a post that sounded very salty against Hale... Saying that how dare Hale say that she is Bayonetta... She can't can't claim that role etc.... So it seems that there is more to the story. 

 

Again.. All speculation based on what came out throughout the day.
