Remij 4,690
He's right. Console is mostly flat/shrinking, PC remains mostly flat, up some years and down others, and Mobile continues to grow. If you want to survive in this business, you're going to have to have a large presence in all 3. Mobile is just too much money. That's why Sony and Nintendo are both pushing in the direction of Mobile. For the long term stability of their business, they need to have a strong presence there. Activision and King for Microsoft would be MASSIVE for them. COD Mobile is absolutely huge, and of course Candy Crush.
TLHBO 2,162
You can tell they want mobile because xflop is the only one that tries to hard to force you to install their mobile app. I bet a lot of this is data driven too.
kaz 2,440
I have no clue why this is necessary. I mean what remij says. Don't we all want real games? This business will never die, people want to sit at home and play games. Like gaben noticed and preached decades ago.

jehurey 3,273
This guy is doing a complete 180 on everything he's been saying has been "the plan" for Xbox. And tried telling us that they're doing fine. He's now using words like "Xbox business is UNTENABLE"? The business, that he tried to say was profitable just a couple of weeks ago, is now untenable? He's trying to save GamePass. GamePass is not getting new subscribers. That's what he's saying. This is why Nintendo and Sony said no to him bringing GamePass to Switch and Playstation. They knew they could choke him and GamePass subscriber numbers would start flat-lining. And since xCloud is sorta okay, but not-really okay when streaming on a mobile phone, he's now thinking that Xbox is now going to have to shift to having their developers make natively-developed mobile games. Fucking pathetic. Iwata talked about this back at his 2011 GDC conference. A race to the bottom. Phil Spencer is going to be responsible for studio closings within Xbox because his "direction" on where to take the Xbox business is getting worse and worse. He is quickly becoming the worst fucking video game executive post-2000. Edited November 18, 2022 by jehurey

He is quickly becoming the worst fucking video game executive post-2000. Whilst this is a good post jerky, the worst “video game executive” would surely be a hard title to wrestle away from Don Mattrick who literally styled the Xbox One into a home media device rather than a games console (a decision which failed multiple times before, see PSX) and set Xbox on this downard spiral of minimal first party content which has plagued Microsoft for about 10 years now. Phil has so far failed to turn things around after spending tens of billions but it was old Don who really fucked the lemmings hard to begin with.
FIREPOWER 736
What happened to being “all in” on Xbox and GP being “sustainable”? Now they need mobile gaming to stay alive? These clowns are always pivoting. Phil and the retards at Redmond can’t stick to one story, and the retarded lemshits who follow them eat it all up lol. 1
Playstation Tablet 1,732
No one wants to play PSnow and Xcloud games on phones. At least in the numbers they hope to attain.
jehurey 3,273
If xCloud worked beautifully, they'd be advertising tv commercials with "Play HALO INFINITE now on your iOS or Android phone!" Play Forza Horizon, play Gears 5. Play Skyrim on your phone now! They don't do that, because it doesn't work that well. So he's now going to have Xbox developers, pause Xbox development, and move over to developing mobile games? I bet he already has 343 Industries trying to get a Halo free-to-play multiplayer project for mobile phones. We can already see the train wreck from here.
