this is wrong.

MLB the Show IP belongs to Sony. The MLB half of that ip is an license that sony holds from MLB. On every store page and every game's title screen you can see the MLB the Show copyright registered to Sony

Publisher(s): Sony Interactive Entertainment; MLB Advanced Media

Have a seat.

The Xbox version isn't even published by Sony.. It was published by the owner of the IP... MLB.

Sony has a license to use the MLB IP... That in no way shape or form is ownership of said IP.

Look how desperate they are for their deal to pass unhindered

Yup, just like them making public announcements with Unions yesterday.   This is just them hoping that a PR thing can help them with their court case today.   Its not going to work

MLB said they would take the license away from Sony if they didn’t release it on Xbox. That’s why it’s on Xbox. Sony could make the exact same game without any MLB affiliated likenesses if they wanted to.

therefore, per your admission, Sony is full third party.

They can't use the MLB the show name without MLBvs permission because MLB owns the IP..... Lmfao at saying Sony owned the IP.

2nd of all Sony doesn't publish the game on other platforms... MLB does that.

So even if Sony made the game without MLB affiliated likeness.. It wouldn't be published on Xbox :umad:

So not only does Sony not own the IP, they don't publish it on other platforms.

Once Sony brings over its own IPs from PlayStation and PC to either a Nintendo system or an Xbox system... Then they will be considered full 3rd party.

Fucking dumbass.

Exactly, they license the likeness from MLB. They still create the game, for Xbox. Full third party

Wrong again. Sony owns the IP, the game, while MLB owns the likeness. As I’ve said over and over again. :tom:

:lawl: Ghostz the retard really thinks Sony owns the MLB IP

They don’t own the “MLB IP”. There is no “MLB IP” for video games. There is MLB, who owns the licensed likeness of MLB copy right, including teams, players, and stadiums.

Sony owns the source code of MLB the Show, the video game. All MLB does is allow them to use the likeliness. You fools don’t know shit if you think otherwise. :mroff:

Think of it this way. NFL 2k5 was the last NFL licensed NFL game from Visual Concepts. They lost the license to EA.

Was it the last football game they made? no. In fact, their next game was the same thing. Just with no nfl likeness. all pro football 2k8 was the same game.
