But how bad did they cheat with it? How sharp is this screen really? Did they do anything to advance "presence" in VR? It's really hard to say. Meta is already a few years ahead with *shipping* hand-tracking interface. HTC and maybe even Meta are in the same ballpark of overall form factor. The dangling battery pack is pretty questionable, and only lasts 2 hours. I guess we're supposed to be blown away by the Apple-ness of it all. They didn't push the envelope far enough to earn that. It still looks like an insane thing to wear on a plane. The outward facing face display is uncanny/creepy to me And yeah 3500 means only the most hateable douches are going to get it early. Nearly all those products have been targeted at the mass public. This is way too high an entry, even though the tech is cool. Price and tech don't match yet for these to take off, this will probably do better than Hololens and defs better than Google eye but still won't be a big success.
