this definitely shows that context is needed for "gaming is down" narrative. ps5 exploded last year due to the supply shortages resolving, but is still doing great this year - 500K+ is strong for march. and xbox is always going to be down because, well, its a piece of shit.

This explains why AMD said they were down.

 

ShitBox is doing so badly that it's affecting even AMD since they used chips to make ShitBox consoles that aren't selling 

 

 

525K is a solid number for March, PS5 is down but not by much. The only console that is in free fall is Xbox and its tanking AMD. It's doing so badly that it's selling worse than the XB1 was doing at this point in its lifetime. We already know it's completely dead in Europe and US is the only place where people still buy this piece of shit and it's still flopping hard here

Agreed.  Both have done extremely well.  Huge numbers.. and it's only been out a short while in the grand scheme of things.  

 

Yea, it's stupid how Sony doesn't play up some of their successes like this.  I still maintain that this game could have done even better had Sony hyped up each sales milestone and publicly spoke more about the game.

Those daily sales posts from the Palworlds devs did wonders for their explosive growth. Basically free marketing and people like what is popular. No idea why they didn't do it. Sony just seem to think they are above it all atm.

So this sales report is basically highlighting just how desperate the PC userbase was starving for a game to play.

 

And even then, its already been reported that the PS version of Helldivers 2 has sold more than the PC in other territories.

 

Almost all viral word of mouth hype about Helldivers 2 here in the US has been about the PC version, the talk of the PS5 version has largely been quiet, which is no surprise because it was surrounded by other, MUCH-bigger games that were being marketed more during this Q1.
