~CK~ 6 Posted May 7, 2010 Share Posted May 7, 2010 goddammit, I just wrote an awesome long ass review of Alan Wake and SW logged me out before i could post it and I lost it. That sucks, but what is your overall impression of the game? Very positive actually, but I didn't find the game especially scary, I wouldn't call it horror. My heart never raced during my playthrough and my palms were never sweaty, which is a huge disappointment. There's always more than enough ammo, batteries and supplies and the enemies aren't intimidating or scary or challenging, at least on normal difficulty. In games like RE4, the enemies creeped you out and you always felt like you had to conserve your ammo creating tenseness which Alan Wake doesn't have. I think the combat would be a lot more satisfying and tenser on a harder difficulty though. The mediocre and cheesy writing detracts from the game too, I think if the writing was better it could have been a much better experience. Not sure if the game is a must buy, but I do want to play through it again on a harder difficulty. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
